Jay Ryan Orient / Disorient & Tilting Dogs Prints On Sale

Jay tells the best stories he can tell you about his new prints :

Today I'd like to tell you about two new prints. The one above, up there, is called "Orient / Disorient", and was made using six screens on top of four pre-existing screens.

See, the thing is - we made a LOT of Breeders posters this summer, and we ended up with a substantial number of misprints due to some printing press wonkiness. I didn't have the heart to destroy all of these Breeders misprints, so I designed this print specifically to cover up the misprinted Breeders artwork. (No offense to the Breeders or to the posters we made for them, about which I am still quite happy). Ten Gravity Bears were hired to inhabit this print, and I think they do their job rather well. There is no obvious evidence of the Breeders print in this artwork, though some of my nerdier friends will note that they can see some of that image in this finishd print if they look closely.

ANYWAY: Signed and numbered edition of 195 pieces total. 18 by 24 inches. $40
 Tilting Dogs
These dogs, so swarthy and swaggering. They may be leaning to compensate for high-speed movement, or they may be standing on some inclined planes (not pictured), or perhaps they've been drinking Kriek lambic at someone's going-away party. Anyway, it should be pretty obvious that these Dogs are Tilting.

Printed on some text-weight paper we've had at the shop for a while. The paper across the edition has what we refer to as a "mild wambliness", meaning there is some light waviness. This isn't the heavy cover stock we usually print on. It's good for this project, though. It's part of why the dogs are tilting.

Signed and numbered edition of 170. Larger size than usual: 23 by 35 inches. $20.
