Front and center, two of everyone's most fondly remembered '70's icons-the Miser Brothers! Hard to put into words what we feel on hearing those opening musical notes and seeing Snow Miser's eternally cool delivery belting out "I'm Mr. White Christmas, I'm Mister Snow…" and then batted back by his equally outrageous and showboating brother singing "I'm Mr. Green Christmas, I'm Mister Sun, I'm Mr. Heat Blister, I'm Mr. 101," all the while tossing off amazingly delivered flourishes like, "Sing It!!" and the most extraordinary "Thank you" you're likely to ever hear!
A timeless Rankin-Bass masterpiece from 1974, "The Year Without a Santa Claus" is also one of the most touching holiday classics, for good reason, and Tom surprised even himself with his striking composition and the sheer amount of happenings within a single 18" x 24" canvas: Santa weighing the faith of children around the world as to their belief in him, elves frantically racing to rescue one of Santa's reindeer fallen ill to warm weather, a Miser Brothers singing stand-off that must be seen AND heard, and all beautifully resolved as Santa's faith is rewarded seeing the children of the world, united, to instead bring HIM a gift this Christmas.
