Erica Williams Black Keys, Surelyfest, Art Crank & more Posters Release

No comments:

Erica Williams has been burning through Micron pens creating a bunch of stunning new posters including her very first Black Keys poster.

Erica created her first ever poster for the Black Keys show in Washington last week and UPS screwed over everyone and the posters did not get to the show in time. Word is they will have them on their website at sometime. But Erica will be selling hers first.

I ask Erica about the design of the Black Keys poster:
"I basically just went with ideas that I felt reflected the band. I can’t explain it all until the other poster is released though, sorry. The premise of it was a creature from myth that was made of two other creatures. I felt like it fit the fact that it was a two piece band and that they experiment sometimes yet have a really familiar feel to their music."
Here are the details on all the posters she will be selling Tuesday

The Black Keys at Verizon Center Washington DC
18x24"  Six colors
Edition of 225 (40 for sale through Erica, the rest later through the band)

The Head and The Heart at The National Richmond VA
18x24" Four colors
AP Edition of 20

Surlyfest 2014
24x18" Five colors
AP Edition of 15

Bike Minneapolis for Shinola/ArtCrank
18x24" Five colors
AP Edition of 25

These will all be on sale Tuesday at a random time on her website http://ericawilliamsillustration.com/

Francesco Lo Castro Portrait Of A Civilization Print on Metal

No comments:

1xRUN introduced it's customers to another new Italian artist Francesco Lo Castro. His recent release Portrait Of A Civilization print on metal is really nice.

"The painting was part of my ‘Advent’ solo exhibition at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood in 2013. With ‘Advent’ (meaning ‘arrival/rise), I sought to depict the impact of humanity’s technological advances and their merging with the organic world to create a symbiosis so transformative that it would give rise to a new way of life, new social constructs and a new form of civilization.

I had two basic intentions: to create an abstract narrative that was wide open to exploration and interpretation and to compose it in a way that depicted the fluid melding of biology and technology. In regards to technique, I wanted to blur the line between organism and machine and set out to hand paint images which had the appearance of having been digitally produced." - Francesco Lo Castro

Tara McPherson There Will Be Blood Movie Poster

No comments:

Tara McPherson was invited to create artwork for the U.S. premiere of There Will Be Blood Live: a full screening and live film score to Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2007 masterpiece, which was projected onto a massive 50′ movie screen at the historic and absurdly beautiful United Palace Theatre: the second-largest movie screen in all of New York City. The Cotton Candy Machine have released her Artist Proofs along with some new printed Wandering Luminations!

Tara McPherson's dark dead-on Daniel Plainview rising from the oil that is consuming him graces her recent movie poster. There Will Be Blood, Screening + live film score with Wordless Music Orchestra and Jonny Greenwood.

For these shows, the film’s original score–comprising music by Jonny Greenwood, Arvo Pärt, and Brahms–was conducted by Ryan McAdams, and performed by 50+ members of the Wordless Music Orchestra, including Jonny Greenwood, who played the ondes martenot part in both performances of his own film score. Both Friday and Saturday night were amazing. The regular edition of 250 was released and sold out at the shows.

The poster is 5 Colors including 1 metallic Silkscreen Print measuring 16 x 23 inches.

Tonight The Avett Brothers are in Rogers, Arkansas and Charles Crisler of 27 Design Co did this kickass poster for the show. New Prints & Poster from Justin Santora

No comments:

Fall is here and now we have to listen to people say how much they love it when it's cold, dark and damp.  Justin Santora has some new items in his online store.  First up is a set of four 10x10" prints depicting various Midwestern animals.  They feature the following:
Black Capped Chicakdee, one of Justin's favorite birds of all time.
Common Eastern Firefly.  Anyone who grew up in a part of the world where these fascinating insects live can remember chasing and catching them as a kid
Brown Rat.  These animals are actually highly intelligent and have been shown to demonstrate a form of empathy in scientific studies.  Justin;s illustrator friend Kevin Tong was in town for Renegade Craft Fair a few weeks ago, and he was pretty intent on seeing at least one of the many rats that populate the shadows of Chicago's alleyways.  But alas, one never presented itself.
Black Crappie.  These striking fish live in rivers and lakes all over Illinois and other parts of the US.  They're kind of a like a mixture between largemouth bass and panfish.

These prints are sold as a set of four with matching edition numbers.  They are signed and numbered editions of 75, 10x10".  Each set is $40.

Lastly, Juston did a poster for the band Pomplamoose.  They consist primarily of a talented husband/wife duo whose YouTube videos of home-recorded cover songs gained them a lot of popularity.  They're goofy, fun, creative, and great musicians.  He did the poster for their recent performance at Chicago's Lincoln Hall, and a few artist copies are available in my store now.

4 color screen print, 18x24", signed/numbered edition of 95.  $20
These are all available in now Justin Santora's store, www.justinsantora.storenvy.com

Nicolas Delort It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Poster Release Details

No comments:

Dark Hall Mansion welcomes an exceedingly gifted artist onboard for its officially licensed 2014 "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" print release, artist Nicolas Delort! Their limited edition screen prints for Charles M. Schulz's Halloween masterpiece is like no other they've ever released.

Dark Hall Mansion, under license from Peanuts Worldwide, will release Nicolas Delort's gorgeous interpretation of the annual classic that signals the holidays are upon us. Nicolas' emotionally charged vision of a faithful Linus awaiting the visit of his beloved Great Pumpkin is pure pathos. His highly detailed linework well serves his hauntingly beautiful composition, truly making this year's "Great Pumpkin" a singular and moving release.

There will be a Standard edition, a Variant edition with special Halloween GID (glow in the dark) layer, and a very select FOIL edition. Think you'll find his Halloween patch and pumpkins quite beautiful as they come alive via the Variant's nighttime GID layer, or watch as they gleam within the negative space of the Foil edition, where pumpkin carvings and select brushstrokes by Nicolas will allow the foil to shine right through.

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" limited edition screen prints go on sale next Thursday, October 2nd on Dark Hall Mansion's dedicated store page here: http://www.darkhallmansionstore.com/ at a random time between 9:30 AM PST and 12 PM PST.
