Go Gray in May and Rock the House with Online Auction to Benefit Brain Tumor Research

No comments:

Make Cancer a No Brainer, an online auction to benefit brain tumor research, announced their 3rd annual auction will take place in partnership with Oligo Nation, the only non-profit focused on translational research for oligodendroglioma brain cancer, from May 22-31, 2016 at www.nobrainerauction.com.

The Make Cancer a No Brainer online auction—featuring exclusive music and entertainment items and experiences—was started in 2015 by Brad Mastrine, whose wife Mindy was diagnosed with two Oligo brain tumors in 2012 just weeks before her 40th birthday. With more than 700,000 people in the U.S. living with brain tumors today and another 70,000 that will be diagnosed this year, the Mastrine family was shocked at how little funding there is for brain tumor research. What started as a grassroots campaign of a family wanting to make a difference has blossomed into a recurring, must-attend online event has raised more than $30,000 for research so far.

“Mindy’s diagnosis came with no warning signs and while after more than a year and a half of treatment she was doing well, as a husband and father of three young children, I couldn’t sit back and wait,” shared Brad Mastrine, founder of Make Cancer a No Brainer. “Brain cancer is far from rare and has one of the lowest long-term survival rates of all cancers. Five years ago there was no funding for medical research on Oligo brain cancer. By partnering with Oligo Nation we know that more than 95% of funds raised through the Make Cancer a No Brainer Auction will go directly to research.”

A partial list of items available during the auction include:
Concert tickets and/or VIP packages to Dave Matthews Band, Dead & Company, Bob Dylan, Jane’s Addiction, Twenty One Pilots, Phish, Seal, Country Jam USA, Chris Stapleton, The Brooklyn Bowl Ultimate Concert Experience package.

Meet & Greet packages with Bonnie Raitt, Big & Rich, Michael Franti & Spearhead

Signed merchandise from Phish, Jack Johnson, Alabama Shakes, The Avett Brothers, String Cheese Incident, Drive-By Truckers

The auction will be available at www.nobrainerauction.com from May 22-31. For updates on the auction, join the Make Cancer a No Brainer on Facebook page and support Brain Cancer awareness month with #GoGrayInMay.

Yuko Shimizu Batman Returns And Catwoman Posters Release From Dark Hall Mansion

No comments:

Dark Hall Mansion is so very pleased to welcome leading contemporary artist, Yuko Shimizu, on for DHM's latest officially licensed limited edition print release, "Batman Returns," in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Entertainment.

Dark Hall Mansion has had this project in development with Yuko for quite some time so it's most gratifying to finally be able to share her unique vision with fans. From the varied Batman films DHM offered it was "Batman Returns" that most appealed to Yuko as illustrator along with colleague, Claudia de Almeida, on as designer. Yuko's two striking individual prints offer a standard edition piece reflecting not only Gotham's protagonists but its topsy-turvy, almost surreal world, along with Yuko's striking variant edition which finds her favorite character from the film, "Catwoman," surrounded by feline companions and a reference or two to characters fans will instantly recognize. Yuko's meticulously detailed and highly stylized illustrations well compliment Claudia's layout and logo design in creating two prints those same fans won't soon forget. In addition to DHM's "Batman Returns" standard and variant edition prints are two select foil editions where the foil substrate reveals itself within various areas of each print creating a select, dynamic, and reflective edition.

All officially licensed Dark Hall Mansion limited edition "Batman Returns" prints go on sale this coming Tuesday, May 31st, at 12:30 PM PDT on their dedicated store page here: http://www.darkhallmansionstore.com

"Batman Returns" Standard Edition of 225 $65

Todd Slater Strange Attraction Foil Prints Release

No comments:

Todd Slater is dropping a couple of prints on Thursday that are just incredible. Strange Attraction will come in blue and copper colorways.

Studio on Fire handled the unique printing duties on these prints. It basically works like this. Foil stamping is somewhat similar to letterpress and engraving, in that the color is applied to paper with pressure. Once the design is finalized, copper plates are created in the appropriate shape for each individual color foil to be applied for a particular design. The dies are heated and then stamped with enough pressure to seal a thin layer of foil to the paper, and each color is applied individually through multiple runs of the press to create the final design.

Check out Studio on Fire on Instagram HERE to see a video of the printing process

The prints are 18″ x 24″ heated foil pressed each one has a signed and numbered edition of 200 in 2 different color ways

These go up Thursday, May 26 between 3pm-5pm Central Time. Visit ToddSlater.net.

Saber Red And Black HPM Print

No comments:

Saber has several new prints for sale including some hand embellished prints. This Serigraph Edition was an experiment. Saber drew black scribbles, splats and spray-marks onto the clear film. Then scanned and zoomed way into some of these tiny accidental characteristics. He stumbled on to this smooth beautiful saturated red paper that felt perfect for this print.

This edition includes three split fountains, hand scratched, pencil, and hand spray-painted accents as well as hand embellished gold foil. Shit, Saber even hand deckled half the edition with master printer John Miner. Saber couldn't keep my hands off this thing. This print feels like a jewel in person. These photos don't do justice, really vibrant. Because the paper was smooth there is a lot of really nice texture interacting with the printed layers.
This print is part of the Hand Touched Multiple Series with hand painted elements. Every print and hand touched HPM's are different from the next. Between the hand embellishments and split fountains each print and HPM including gold embellishment has variations.

-Size: 18 x 24 Inches
-Red And Black Hand Touched Edition: 14 all together, only 4 of this version is available.
-Medium: 4-Color Serigraph Ultra-Red Fine Art Paper, Three Split Fountains, With Gold Foil Embellishment, Hand Done Spraypaint Fade, Hand Scratched Accents, Incorporated Signature With Pencil, Solid Pigment Oil Sticks, Spraypaint
Signed and numbered with COA

Please Welcome POP!NK Editions To Inside The Rock Poster

No comments:

I am very happy to announce a new sponsor on the blog, POP!NK Editions. Over the past year I have shown many of their releases and recently bumped into them in person on accident. I was at a gallery opening last month and saw 3 guys looking at the work. I could tell they were not "civilians" from the way they were examining the work. So I asked a friend of mine, hey who are these guys he says they are from POP!NK. Now I had only spoken to them by email and was happy to meet them in person at last. We hung out for a couple of nights at some gallery's and had fun talking art and everything else.

Who are these guys you ask ?  Artists & printers Steve Seeley, Zach Schrey and Curtis Readel are the creative and technical print-wizards behind POP!NK Editions. POP!NK specializes in hand-pulled fine art screen prints. No giclee's or digital prints, just screen printed editions all printed by hand. Jordan Nickel aka POSE, Hebru Brantley and L'Amour Supreme are some of the established artists they are working with. Other emerging artists include Ermsy, Upendo, and BORT.

Visit their website (www.popinked.com) for available editions and follow on Instagram @POPINKED to see projects that they are working on and for upcoming print release information.

Brad Klausen Flight To Mars Seattle Poster Release

1 comment:

Flight To Mars with Mike McCready played their annual shows this past weekend in Seattle and proceeds from the shows benefit Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's Camp Oasis.

Brad Klausen created the poster for the two shows and it looks sick.

The regular poster is 12" x 24.75", 3 Colors on white paper signed and numbered out of 50.

For the first time Brad has done a foil variant. poster is 12" x 24.75", 3 Colors on silver foil paper signed and numbered out of 35.

Brad talks about his design:
I was asked to make this year's Flight to Mars poster be Bowie themed. And even though I knew they were going to have a Bowie tribute band open the show, it was a bit of a quandary to be asked to make a Bowie themed poster for a UFO tribute band. It'd be like making a Neil Young themed poster for a Rolling Stones tribute band. Originally they were going to open the show with a Motorhead tribute but opted for Bowie instead. They also asked if I could sneak Prince's symbol in there somewhere too... so my initial quandary was resolved when I figured I could make the poster Bowie themed but also a larger overall theme about visionary musicians / people. David Bowie, Prince and Lemmy were all visionary people. They saw things that other people did not, not only in themselves but in music. And trusting in their own vision all three of them left a mark on the world and the art of music in their own unique and brilliant ways. I use the symbol of the eye a lot. Given I am a visual person / artist, the eye is of great symbolic significance to me. The eye symbolizes not just sight and vision, but knowing and wisdom. Bowie, Prince and Lemmy all had their own unique vision and ability to see and know what they wanted to create. Their individual vision helped create and introduce completely new avenues to the world of music, reshaping and changing it forever.
Posters go on sale at 10 AM Pacific on Tuesday May 24th at http://artillerydesign.com/

Earth Crusher The Raise Print

No comments:

Earth Crusher aims to maximize the overall return to its shareholders by controlling and dominating all life on the planet – areas of expertise in which we have a clear competitive advantage. A fundamental part of this is to deliver value while operating in a non ethical and socially inept manner, and remaining committed to short term gain.

At Earth Crusher, there is always a suite of quality projects under development and a portfolio of global exploitation projects to ensure profitable development opportunities for the future. Projects like slavery, deforestation, lethal tobacco production, toxic chemical production, tactical weapons systems, torture techniques, apple pie, unsustainable farming, intrusive surveillance systems, asbestos mining, and the list goes on.

No other entity on earth can guarantee the same investment security as Earth Crusher. With a complete lack of moral compass, we are able to concentrate solely on generating profit and nothing else.

1xRUN has a new print from him titled The Raise and it comes in your choice of two sizes.
"The Raise is my interpretation of the regular goings-on in the office life of the corporate elite. This piece is the largest of a 4 part series of billboards I built for my solo show "The Chosen One Percent" at Artgang in Montreal, Quebec, March 2016.I became interested in advertising and propaganda in the beginning of my art career and I especially liked the billboard as a medium and started experimenting with it. I see the billboard as being outside of the control of the people, a symbol of power and manipulation. I decided I'd build my own as an attempt to take that power and put it behind my own messages." - Earth Crusher

Ryan Duggan's Mr. D's Snack Shacks Print Series

No comments:

Ryan Duggan always loved the weird little roadside shacks that pop up to serve the people their french fries and pizza puffs so he settled on making 12 prints with this subject matter before the end of the year! A handful of subs are available but two prints are up so far.

The first print of Mr. D's Snack Shacks is an overdue reprint of this bygone hotdog stand that stood in Ryan's neighborhood of Avondale. Originally printed for an art show back in 2014 it's back to kick off the series. 3 screens hand-printed on 150# manila Wausau, 24" x 18" for easy framing. Signed/numbered edition of 45

The second print of the series honors Bunyon's which stood in Cicero, IL. It featured a fiberglass "Bunyan" version of the 'muffler men' from the 1960s which makes the spelling of the restaurant name pretty hilarious. Bunyon's is gone but the hot dog-wielding man still exists, having been moved to Atlanta, IL alongside Route 66. 4 screens hand-printed on 150# manila Wausau, 24" x 18" for easy framing. Signed/numbered edition of 45
