Pearl Jam Sao Paulo Lollapalooza Brazil Poster by Brad Klausen World Premier Exclusive

Front

Back

Pearl Jam is back on the road for 3 shows in South America this week and the first stop is Lollapalooza Brazil. Brad Klausen is the man once again doing the poster for the first show. For the first time they asked the artist to write out the meaning or story behind the design and print it on the back of the poster, pretty damn cool and a great idea.

Brad will be selling his posters Monday at 10 AM PDT at www.artillerydesign.com

Malleus Hyster Poster sale

No comments:

Details from Malleus :

It’s been a 3 days of struggling with the mess in our studio.
While printing the last poster of the Dario Argento’ serie, we found ourselves in a sort of hysteric situation, surrounded by mess and with a brain confusion that was going to erase our calm forever…
On monday, while preparing the prints to bring in Milano at Santeria for the vernissage of the opening of our exhibition (and by the way: see You on the 9th of April for the finissage!) we discovered our studio was in a massive disorder again.
So we decided to stop and count ALL the posters that were around.
We built up 2 new racks, 2 shelving units to hold all the prints and then we started.
We opened folders that were close since the beginning of time, we dig under piles of paper, we found things we lost in the center of the earth… and tonight, we almost did it.
We have a few places we need to look at, parts of the studio we never touched since we moved in years ago, but the main work and cataloguing of our prints has been done.
And we found a lot of oldies, a great number of prints and rarities we didn’t even think we still had.

We’re so happy we’ve worked on this “tide up days” we want to share what we found with You.
Easter is coming and we feel so good, we feel like we’ve broken a lots of eggs (and not only…) in these past hours.
So, starting from this sunday and for a week, we’ll have on our webstore what we’ve decided to call the “HYSTER SALE”, considering it’s easter and considering we were getting mad here behind a pile of mess!
What will it be?
A period of sale with a 20% of discount on all our posters and prints on the Malleus store, including some really rare thing we’ve found out in these days.
So, if You’re looking at some of our oldies, or if You want to buy a new print but You think it’s too expensive right now cause You’ve just finish to buy tons of easter eggs (hope at least fondant chocolate!!!) or whatever… seize the moment and take a look at our webstore starting from this Sunday!

New Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein Print I Shall Be With You Release Details

No comments:

Actual print

This Tuesday at around 2pm Central Time, Nakatomi will release the second print in their Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein series- “I Shall Be With You”. This stunning 24×36 hand-printed silk-screen is signed by Bernie in a hand-numbered edition of 200.

Part of the joy of this project for Tim Doyle of Nakatomi has been getting to talk with Bernie and his wife Liz, about art, the industry they’re in, and the amazing experiences he’s had in the world of comics and film over the last 40+ years. It has been a supreme honor to introduce his work to the world of screen-printed art collectors- some who are discovering him for the first time, and others who have been fans for a long, long time.

Tim got to visit Bernie’s home studio in Austin a few weeks back this pic is only a tiny part of the awesome contained therein. Every corner is packed with curious and strange artifacts. An artist’s studio is his castle- and to be allowed into this space was a rare gift. Best of all- no computer art apparatus to be found! Bernie is still doing it all by hand, like a champ like a real artist should be doing it!

These high-quality reproductions of his original pen and ink drawings from over 30 years ago would not be possible if it weren’t for his legion of fans who helped track down the original pieces that had been sold to collectors decades ago. A good chunk of these original pieces were in the collection of director Frank Darabont- not only just a fan of Bernie’s- Frank has employed Bernie’s staggering talents for his film, The Mist.

“I Shall Be With You” is the only ‘double page spread’ in the entirety of Bernie’s original Illustrated Frankenstein book- published back in 1983 from Marvel comics, and so to capture the detail of this piece- they went with the larger size.

Printed on heavyweight 130lb Cougar Natural paper- these prints are in hand and ready for immediate shipment.

The LAST PRINT in the series sold out very quickly. They’ve upped the edition size this time out, and upgraded to a larger server from their E-comm provider which should smooth out some of the check-out headaches, but inevitably, some people will get shut out- and for that, Nakatomi apologize in advance.

Go HERE ON THE NAKATOMI SITE to purchase this print on Tuesday 4/2 around 2pm. They will announce via Twitter when the prints are officially live.

For one weekend only, March 29-30, 2013, at the Spoke Art Gallery in San Francisco, we will host a one of a kind art exhibition featuring 30 custom Sametan vinyl figures designed by 30 global artists including Frank Kozik, Buff Monster, Jenn Porreca, Skinner, Ferg and many more.

BASK Thoughtcrime Ant Hand Painted Multiples On Sale Today

No comments:

Goldie
Bask is once again bringing his talents to 1xRUN with 2 brand new HPM's being released today.

First up is Thoughtcrime Ant it is 7.5 x 16 Inche Hand-Painted Multiple on Wood with a signed and numbered edition of 30

"These pieces are a continuation of my Thoughtcrime series. The Ant image is painted on a series of weathered panels. This set was completed within the past month. It’s hard to say how long they took to create because salvaging the panels from a variety of places over a long time is just as much of a part the art as laying down the paint on top of them. Each piece has it’s own history imbedded onto itself.

Each piece is hand crafted and each panel has been painted and processed by me. I like the idea of small production works that let people get a original piece of art for the cost of some prints these days.

I have been saving these panels for a while and finally it was time to cut them down and make some art out of them. Paintings of the same stenciled image but each looking 100% original to itself. Each piece has it’s own distinct character and personality while keeping the repetition of the Thoughtcrime." - BASK

Bask quickly began to notice similarities between the communistic iconic propaganda from his youth and the consumer advertising of his teens. Bask soon discovered that they were simply, two sides of the same coin. Each vying for our short-lived attention spans, all the while selling us (or telling us?) anything and everything from Marxism to McDonalds. Seeking conspiracies -and finding them embedded in the popular iconography of the mass media, Bask began painting bold, media critical broadsides to assuage his fear of being manipulated. A fear cultivated in a repressive regime, had now returned, but to the most unlikely and safest of places- The American living room.

The artist’s richly textural work imbue his “anti-iconic,” sometimes satirical worldview with an undercurrent of dark emotion. His canvases are the city’s flotsam and jetsam of industrial and consumer decay. Combining his graphic skill with his trademark multi-layered applications, Bask builds up the surface only to break down the image. “My art is a type of deconstruction,” says Bask, “I try to focus on the imperfection of things, rather then their unachievable perfection.”

They will also be releasing 4 HPM's titled Goldie

They all go on sale at NOON EDT today at 1xRUN.com

RON ENGLISH X SLASH Limited Edition Bust Sculpture Release Details

No comments:

Now this is fucking Rock n Roll, WOW. The cover art for Slash’s first solo album was created by the one and only artist, Ron English, who has now re-created a fiberglass bust of that image. When SLASH, arguably the world’s greatest guitar player, embarked on a solo career by collaborating with his favorite singers, he asked artist Ron English to create with him the cover art for "SLASH and Friends." For this project, Ron interpreted SLASH’s iconic skull and top hat using his unique glowing color technique in a boudoir atmosphere complete with guitar/derriere crossbones.

In response to the popularity of the album artwork, Ron English and SLASH have worked together to create a limited edition fiberglass bust of the now iconic image. In collaboration with the prestigious Hong Kong sculpture house Garage Works, the approximately 15" tall ENGLISH SLASH bust is being released in a limited edition of 10 pieces, each signed and numbered by both Ron English and SLASH.

The subtle little detail of the nose ring is pretty fucking sweet.

Ok who guess how much they will cost without looking .........no peaking........ ready ?........ $7500

The RON ENGLISH X SLASH Limited Edition Bust Sculptures will be available on POPaganda.com on Monday April 8th at 12pm EST.

Robert Bowen WASP Print On Sale

No comments:

Robert Bowen has prints of his high octane stinging machine available for purchase. Number 8 in his Lucky Strike series is now available as a limited edition print. Not only do wasps do a great job of scaring the shit out of you, some of them are also decent at pollinating. Few creatures are able to make a creature 50x its size run from them screaming like a little girl while doing Mother Nature’s happy work. So here’s to the W.A.S.P. (We Are Superior Predators/Pollinators) limited edition of 50, 12×22″, as always printed with archival inks on acid free cotton rag paper.

You can also get the image on a shirt as well.

Brian Ewing Werewolf Art Print On Sale

No comments:

Brian Ewing made an print of his LACUNA COIL with OF MICE & MEN and CHIODOS gigposter that sold out at the show. Of course it rocks since it is the Werewolf.

The poster is 18”x24” Screen Print edition of 50 Signed & Numbered

Details from Brian on the print:

I'm also making available 50 copies of the art print. I decided to expand on the monster series and add some movies that weren't part of the canon of the better-known Universal Monsters. They are... but most people don't remember this movie. Werewolf of London was the first American mainstream werewolf movie and was done six years before Lon Chaney Jr., slapped a bunch of hair all over his face and started barking at the moon in The Wolf Man. Jack Pierce did the make-up for both movies (as well as a bunch more including Frankenstein and Bride Of...) so you know it was awesome! I really need to start doing pub quiz or something. All this useless knowledge...
