Widespread Panic Chuck Sperry Savannah Poster Release
Widespread Panic were in Savannah, Georgia last night and to the delight of WSP fans Chuck Sperry did the poster.
Chuck walks you through the garden:
I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for a very long time, ever since I scheduled a Widespread Panic poster to appear between two Black Sabbath shows. Panic is very near and dear to my heart! I’ve been calling this “Sabbath Sandwich” with the meat in the middle. I worked very hard to make this poster shine!Widespread Panic, Savannah
My inspiration was given by the band, “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”, and I ran with it without referring to the movie or book, but just using the idea as a theme. I created an image that suggests Eve in the Garden of Eden, but also suggests Eurydice who once bitten by the snake is taken away to Hades where Orpheus the Prophet-Musician must play his most beautiful music before the King and Queen of the Underworld to save his one true love. It’s a story about the power of love, the length of love and the strength of music to heal. I’ve been creating floral patterns for many of my prints over the last few years; I wanted to create a floral pattern for the background, but this time, a harmonious non-repeating one, which has the rhythm of nature. It’s always okay if you just want to enjoy it for your own reasons, but that’s my inspiration.
21 x 35 inches, 7 colors on cream paper
Signed and Numbered Edition of 500
Chuck will be making a very limited online release of his Artist Edition of 100 (Signed and Numbered) posters and variants on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at a random time at ChuckSperry.net

Half Hazard Press Greensky Bluegrass Winter Tour Poster Release
Half Hazard Press will be releasing a new poster this week for Greensky Bluegrass. This is a 16”x24”, 4-color screen print.
A bit about the art:
We've always wanted to do something with jackalopes, and this specific image is one we’ve been holding on to for over a year. According to folklore, they only breed during lightning flashes, so we wanted to create a scene similar to bucks butting heads to show dominance…but with jackalopes.
They’ll be releasing 40 APs for $40 each on Thursday, Feb 25 at 9 am central at www.halfhazardpress.com.
Shepard Fairey & Jamie Reid Poster Release Details
Obey Giant will be releasing some posters that Shepard Fairey and Jaime Reid collaborated on recently.
Shepard discuss' the work:
The Sex Pistols changed my life. When I was a 14-year-old skateboarder, a friend played me “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols,” and that moment marked a turning point for me. The Sex Pistols provided the adrenaline-inducing soundtrack for my rebellion. If the Sex Pistols provided the soundtrack, the artist behind their imagery, Jamie Reid, provided the visuals for the revolution. Jamie Reid did the iconic art for the Sex Pistols like the “God Save the Queen” sleeve, the “Pretty Vacant” sleeve, and the cover for the album “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols.” Jamie deserves the majority of credit for the daring aesthetics of Punk Rock. If you’ve ever seen a photocopied, ransom note style, cut & paste punk graphic, then you’ve seen Jamie Reid’s influence. Jamie has been one of my biggest creative inspirations both visually and philosophically, because his work is bold, provocative, irreverent, and political. Jamie Reid also turned me on to Situationism, a movement dedicated to disrupting the conformist trance through pranks and spectacles. I’m honored that I have been able to work with Jamie on some collaborative images and to present a special collection through Obey Clothing in his honor, as well as two limited edition screen-prints. Jamie and I have mutual interest in shaking things up and addressing the problems of corruption, environmental destruction, and wealth inequality, so it is very energizing and meaningful to do a project with him. Enjoy and embrace the chaos!– ShepardBe Reasonable, Shepard Fairey x Jamie Reid. 18 inches by 24 inches on white Speckle Tone paper. Numbered Edition of 375. Signed by Shepard Fairey.
Suburban Pressure, Shepard Fairey x Jamie Reid. 18 inches by 24 inches on white Speckle Tone paper. Numbered Edition of 375. Signed by Shepard Fairey.
Both posters will be available Tuesday, March 1 at 10AM PST in Prints section.

Black Sabbath Chuck Sperry New York Poster
Black Sabbath has 2 more dates on their US The End tour and they are in New York city Thursday and Saturday night. Chuck Sperry did the poster for both nights.
Chuck talks Sabbath:
I think you have heard this from every artist tapped to make a Black Sabbath poster for this, their last tour. It’s an indescribably honor, a high point, especially for a veteran of the Rock Poster medium, like me; I’ve made posters (and by made – I mean printed every last one – haha!) for over twenty years, and this poster stands out as one of the greatest honors, truly a dream come true! I have rocked out to “War Pigs” for as long as I can remember. Now I’ve gotten to put my artistic stamp on this song, for a huge show for Black Sabbath at Madison Square Garden in New York City – and it’s a kind of surreal but highly satisfying experience.Details on the poster

21 x 31 inches , 3 colors on cream paper
Signed and Numbered Edition of 1000

Timothy Pittides Haxan: Witchcraft Through The Ages Poster Release From Grey Matter Art
Grey Matter Art is proud to present a new officially limited edition screen print for the classic 1922 silent horror film, "Haxan: Witchcraft Through The Ages" by artist Timothy Pittides. There are 2 separate editions for this poster, a Regular & Variant Edition. Below are details regarding the poster and release date.
Artist: Timothy Pittides
Size: 20x30 6 Color Screenprint
Regular Edition: 75/$40.00
Printed on 100lb French Parcel Wrap Kraft-Tone Paper
Variant Edition: 35/$50.00
2 Metallic Inks, Printed on 100lb French Chipboard Kraft-Tone Paper
Printed by: VG Kids
Here is what artist Timothy Pittides had to say about Haxan:
"Haxan is surreal, visually stunning and sticks with you like a demon sticks to pretty young woman's soul. This horror classic deserved some love and I was happy to give it some. I had three points I wanted to hit in the design. Vintage, sensual, and dark. I wanted to convey the sabbath scene as it basically sums up the entire film's purpose as well as the points I was trying to get across. The morbidly romantic side really stood out to me. I went to classic art of the middle ages, as well as the fanastic work of spanish painter, Luis Ricardo Falero for inspiration. This poster will be released Friday, February 26th on our website shop page at 1:00PM EST at www.greymatterart.com
The demon designs are inspired from the middle age paintings of demons throughout europe. The one thing I love about those depictions is they used animals and nature and fuse them with angelic concepts to create frightening and unique visions. It really was the highlight for me to concept them. Mixing and match various animals to create something only Satan himself would ever conceive.
I honestly enjoyed working on this poster. I hope it comes through on the paper."

Black Sabbath Adam Pobiak Montreal Poster World Premiere Exclusive
Adam & Ozzy |
The biggest surprise so far this year with posters has been the excellent series of work created for Black Sabbath's The End Tour. The posters started showing up on line and everyone was blown away with how good the art work has been.
Doing a Black Sabbath poster is on the bucket list for many artists. Adam Pobiak had the original heavy metal group very high on his wish list. His excitement for finally being able to do a poster for Sabbath came through very strong as we talked about it the other day.
So it is my pleasure to reveal exclusively Adam Pobiak's Black Sabbath poster for the show in Montreal tonight.
Adam on his dream job:
I doubt many people have followed my poster career VERY closely, but if you have, you might have noticed that in EVERY interview I have ever given, when asked which band I would most like to make a poster for, my answer has ALWAYS been “BLACK SABBATH”. Over the years I’ve had the privilege to make posters for basically all of my favorite bands that still play together, but Black Sabbath has always been my dream - and I fully expected that this would always stay a dream, since the full line-up had only played a small handful of reunion shows in the last 20 or 30 years. As you can imagine, I was shocked, humbled and honored when they announced their final tour “THE END” and I was asked to create artwork for my favorite band of all time – a band that has such a profound and undeniable influence on music in general. These are large posters are 17.4 x 31in (79.8 x 44cm)
This print is for their date in Montreal on February 23rd, 2016. 466 of these posters were printed but I have very few to sell and no variants were created. This might be the first time I’ve thought that these things I’ve made may have more value to me personally than the folks who might want to buy them. So, I’m going to start selling them at the same price they sold for at the show, but if they are selling quickly, I may raise the price so I still have a couple for myself at the end of the day! Therefore, if you are interested, it would be best to get in early to avoid possibly paying more.
I still kind of can’t believe this happened.-AP
4 colors: Metallic Silver, Dark Metallic Silver, Master of Reality Purple, and Black (black light responsive)
Edition of 466
Artist edition will be signed and numbered (the posters the band are selling in Montreal are not signed but I have signed the prints I’m selling)
Adam also had a couple prints shipped directly to Austin for SXSW along with some handbills, so he will have VERY few for Flatstock even if he sells out online beforehand. Handbills (mini-prints) will be available to buy through his site once he returns towards the end of March.
The posters will be available in Montreal at the show, and Adam will sell his the day after the show on Wednesday, Feb 24th Noon Eastern (9am Pacific and 5pm UK) at shop.pobiak.com
