PangeaSeed is pleased to announce the latest print of the ongoing Sea of Change: The Year of Living Dangerously - Vol. 2 print suite by guest artist Nychos (Austria). The highlighted species of this edition is the threatened Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus Albacares).
Nychos
Title: "Thunnus Albacares"
18x24 inches on 100lbs cougar paper
11 color screen print signed & numbered edition of 100 for $150 USD. Printed by the fine folks at VGKids
Available Tuesday, December 21, 2016, 12 pm PST at https://shop.pangeaseed.co/
Artist statement:
With it's speed and beauty, the yellow fin tuna is the most interesting sea dweller for Nychos. This is why he chose to honor the species with a translucent portrayal for this fine art print release. Nychos is aware of and watches critically as people continue to over-harvest the seas which directly harms the yellow fin tuna. The population of this beautiful fish, named after the bright color of its fins, is already in drastic decline. By collaborating with PangeaSeed Foundation, Nychos aims to bring attention to the endangerment of the THUNNUS ALBACARES - before it's too late.

The band was playing in Detroit in early November. I wanted to highlight the industrial history of the city, as well as the transition between the seasons." - Zeb Love

No Future Shepard Fairey Letterpress Print Release
Shepard Fairey is not slowing down even with the end of the year approaching as he has a new letterpress print coming next week.
My art is usually social and political regardless of who is in the White House, but my concerns and frustrations are amplified by the election of Donald Trump. I joked while Trump was campaigning that his slogan should be “Manifest Density,” a parody of “Manifest Destiny,” which was an embarrassingly egotistical pronouncement by rich white men that it was God’s desire for them to conquer ocean to ocean in the territory that would become the United States. Trump appealed to an uninformed electorate who looked for scapegoats and were driven by most likely one or more of the dark impulses listed in the print.I’m pushing for a future where those impulses have no place and definitely no traction. Let’s move forward, not backward. No Future. 10 x 13 inches. Letterpress on cream cotton paper with hand-deckled edges. Signed by Shepard Fairey. Numbered edition of 300. $65. OBEY publishing chop in lower left corner.
I did two versions of this print and did smaller editions because I couldn’t make up my mind which I liked more. So the OBEY WITH CAUTION version of the print will be available in the coming weeks (see below). Both editions of 300. – Shepard

Tatiana Suarez And PangeaSeed Sagrada Vaquita Print Release
PangeaSeed is pleased to announce the latest print of the ongoing Sea of Change: The Year of Living Dangerously - Vol. 2 print suite by guest artist Tatiana Suarez (USA). The highlighted species of this edition is the critically endangered Vaquita Porpoise.
Tatiana Suarez
Title: "Sagrada Vaquita"
18x24 inches with hand-deckle edges
Fine art giclee print signed / numbered edition of 50 for $75 USD
Available Thursday, December 15, 2016, 12 pm PST at https://shop.pangeaseed.co/
Artist statement:
I was immediately drawn to the Vaquita Porpoise as soon as I came across its adorable face. I was also immediately heartbroken after researching the species. These beautiful creatures are currently considered the most endangered marine mammal in the world—with approximately only 60 remaining in the wild. At this rate, the Vaquita are estimated to be extinct within the next 5 years. Issues such as illegal fishing with the use of gil nets and climate change are the main reason for their decline. The window for saving the Vaquita is rapidly closing, but there’s still hope. Solutions such as choosing sustainable seafood while shopping and simply raising awareness on the pressing issue can help.
The Vaquita is only found in the uppermost corner of Mexico’s Gulf of California. Due to their name being of Latin origin along with their geography, I chose to depict the Vaquita in the gentle embrace of a saintly figure, similar to those found on Latin American prayer cards and candles. Having these cards in one’s possession and lighting these candles are viewed as a ritualistic observance for someone. This piece represents a prayer of hope and protection for these magnificent creatures.

Dan May And Mike DuBois Merry Christmas Charlie Brown Prints Release
Dark Hall Mansion under license from Peanuts Worldwide LLC, continues its annual Christmas and holiday Peanuts releases with artists Dan May, Mike DuBois, Eduardo Sanabria and their official limited edition prints for "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown," !!
Artist Dan May's interpretation of Charles M. Schulz's 1965 classic, "A Charlie Brown Christmas," is quiet and powerful, a piece subtly addressing troubled times with Charlie Brown removed and elevated from the noise of the world and blur the holidays can become by masking that which is most important. Dan's composition instantly struck us in finding Charlie Brown, accompanied by a quietly emotional Snoopy, not merely reflective but openly longing and prayerful for that which matters most; a moving reminder for us all, particularly during the holidays.
Artist Mike DuBois' "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown" is a gently sweet counterpoint sharing a warm and at ease Charlie Brown very much at peace and enjoying his world with close friends on that most special of nights. Mike's stylistic approach renders his print visually interesting as even his trees seem to lean and reach for that holiest of stars whilst Charlie Brown's inner peace is similarly reflected in one very content Snoopy. Mike's foil editions immediately sold out on our first day of release for his "Evening Celebration" prints and here his Lava and Sparkle editions, both printed on foil substrate, lend an additional and striking dimension to his "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown" prints by heightening the emotion and context of each. Mike's editions are screen printed and individually hand signed by the artist.
Finally, DHM is so very excited to be working with award winning artist, Eduardo Sanabria, whose vibrantly colored work and intensely stylized approach well serves that most classic dance break moment in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" that has the whole Peanuts gang sharing one of the single most famous moments in Peanuts film history. Eduardo's body of work and socials following speaks for itself and DHM is looking forward to surprising fans with upcoming collaborations with Eduardo.
