This Thursday, Bottleneck Gallery has a trifecta or purr-fect releases from Joey Feldman: His Pixies gig poster; an art print; and their first collaboration with the fine folks at Rampant Decks!

Joey’s newest gig poster for The Pixies’ Columbus, Ohio shows in March feature a warped and wonderful take on the Cheshire Cat. TAZ Out of the Archives Print Show

Jim Evans aka TAZ has been digging through his archives for what looks to be an amazing show this weekend curated by RISK.

Once referred to as the “Rock Poster God” artist Jim Evans will be exhibiting rare and early prints from his personal collection at the Mayfair Hotel (1256 W 7th St) in Los Angeles, CA located inside their Regime Contemporary Art Gallery starting with the grand opening March 29th - 6 to 11 pm and running through March 30th - noon through to 6 pm. Regime Contemporary Gallery is curated by LA Graffiti legend Kelly "RISK" Gravel and will be home to some iconic rock posters from Jim Evans, including show posters for Nine Inch Nails, Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins and Pixies.

Featured for sale at the exhibit are rare prints produced with master LA print maker Richard Duardo dating back to the 1980’s as well as some of his early rock concert posters for Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys and Green Day. Highlighting the exhibit are the original artist proofs for early “Lallapalooza” Concerts.

James Flames Dave Matthews Band & Eric Church Posters Release

First up is James Flames latest poster for Dave Matthews Band, from their recent show in London.

The title for this one is "Magic Always Finds You”, and here's its little story from James: It's a typically rainy day in London, and a young couple is taking a lazy stroll through the city. Along their way, they pass by this curious building that catches their eye – something about it just calls to them, and the plants and flowers inside look SO inviting. So they come in from the rain for a few minutes to find some peace and quiet in this happy little place – and just as they get comfortable and start to dry up, star-dust floats through the window and dances around them, celebrating young love. They reach out and grab a little bit of the magic, so that they can take it with them as they go back out into the city, back out into the rain.

Next, he'll be releasing the new posters he made for Eric Church, from his recent shows in North Carolina. According to James "this was a really fun and challenging project. It's a three-poster set (triptych), with all three individual posters combining together to make one giant image." These will be sold as matching number sets of three posters.

But, James wanted to take this to another level, and so he created the image so that the two end-pieces could combine seamlessly to create a two-piece set (diptych). For these, he made special uncut sheets -- so it's one giant 36" x 24" poster, uncut, combining the two posters together. These uncut sheets are exclusive to his website, they were not available at the shows, and they're limited to an edition of only 25!

This started life as a gig poster for an American band based around a dark sci brief that i took on to explore some of my different influences and also for fun, anyway the art director wanted a less digital looking image and i was into this look for this project so i stepped down from the project, it was a nice opportunity and i was glad to be given the chance even if it didn't work out this time, anyway i still really liked the image so i turned it into a small run art print.

It was heavily inspired by the french comic book artist Moebius who's work i've been reading at length in recent months and title is taken from a volume of The adventures of Tin Tin.

Jeff Soto Skull of Life Art Print Release

Jeff Soto has an amazing piece of work releasing Wednesday. This marks a more personal direction in his creative process.

Here is Jeff in his own words discussing his new approach:

I’m on a quest to create more personal art prints so I made a decision last year to take on less gig poster assignments. I have always loved the art and process of screenprinting- the layers, the colors, the linework and the shapes! These fine art prints will not have “Metallica” or “Primus” or “Pearl Jam” on them but I am creating them with the same artistic spirit and care. These prints are for my fans, and I’m hoping some of friends I have met along the way making gig posters will like them too!

This is “Skull of Life”. It celebrates Spring’s colorful flower blooms, bugs, bees, butterflies and the wild growth of Nature. It is inspired visually by my own plant collection of cacti and succulents.

Created by famed papermaker Yama Ploskonka of Papel Texano, this 300gsm handmade paper was created for Industry Print Shop’s 10 year anniversary. Ploskonka took 500 sheets of screen printed test prints and created a beautiful recycled cotton rag paper. No two sheets are alike- each contains small remnants of past screenprints, each shred, rich with its own history! Every sheet is watermarked with Industry Editions & Papel Texano marks (pic before hand embellishment and signing).
