Half Hazard Press Yonder Mountain String Band Boulder Posters

Half Hazard Press have a new set of simply amazing looking posters. This is a 4 -panel poster series they did for Yonder Mountain String Band and their New Years shows at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, CO. When shown together, the four panels depict a pair of bison defending their calf from attacking wolves. The panels are also split so the two for 2015 have the bison as the victim in the narrative, while the panels in 2016 show the bison fending off the wolf to signify overcoming the hardships of one year and looking forward to a better one ahead.

The standard editions are printed on French Speckletone Cream, and will have AP editions of 25, available for $40 individually, or $140 for the complete set.

They will also have a metallic variant printed on Curious Metallics White Gold paper, that will have AP editions of 15, available for $50 individually, or $160 for the set.

Craig Drake AT-AT Prints From Hero Complex Gallery

Hero Complex Gallery had the great pleasure of hosting artist and friend, Craig Drake, this past weekend for a very special get together at the gallery. It included an artist Q&A, which was so fun to share with everyone, and they also announced Craig Drake Solo III, his 3rd consecutive solo show with HCG, so be on the lookout for that show in the coming months.

With that HCG released a print by Craig featuring an AT-AT. There is a regular edition, Foil Variant and a metal variant.

Jermaine Rogers Primus Houston Poster & Handbill Print Sub

Jermaine Rogers was commissioned by the legendary band PRIMUS to create the limited edition print for their recent appearance in Houston, Texas (on tour with the band TOOL). This silk screened poster measures approx. 26x16 inches and is printed on French speckletone cream stock.

Regarding the striking imagery, Jermaine says:

'Deep in a patch of woods far away, the back-and-forth volleys between a singular herd of bunnies and a gaze of raccoons has taken a decidedly disturbing turn. Blood has been given & difficult choices made on either side. But choices have consequences. When fate plays into the hands of a scavenging coon, new questions arise. Must the innocent suffer for the decisions of their fathers? Is there another way? Time will tell.' - jr

Jermaine Rogers 2016 Mini-Print/Handbill Subscription -

'In 1996, I began yearly poster subscriptions under a thing I called the 'Poster Club'. In 2006, i discontinued the yearly poster subscription in order to make more time to pursue other interests (painting, vinyl figures, writing, etc.). Many people were upset with me for doing that, but I needed to follow my gut, so there it was. Since then, I have been asked repeatedly to offer yearly poster subscriptions again. I have no plans to do that. But for 2016, I am making available 100 Mini-Print/Handbill subscriptions, on a first come / first served basis.'

Here's what the subscription entitles you to:

Rob Loukotka Coloring Prints: This is a Tasty Burger Release

Rob Loukotka is introducing a new art print series, which is coloring book style. He drew a huge collection of Quentin Tarantino styled items, in black and white, so that people can color in the entire print in any way they choose (with colored pencils or markers. Lots of artists like Copic Markers.). Each limited edition print is signed and numbered by Rob, with extra space for your signature. Team work!

This is pretty fun / weird idea, and he is kicking it off with "This is a Tasty Burger" which features items from Tarantino's films (Hanzo sword from Kill Bill, Django's guns, Big Kahuna Burger from Pulp Fiction, etc.).

Adult coloring books are a thing, but the paper is flimsy and Rob didn't find the subject matter interesting. So this series is on artist quality cover stock, with 8x8" frames available, so the artwork can live on your wall instead of a refrigerator.

Jonny Alexander has released a new screen print with 1xRUN titled We're All Home, Floating Around On This Piece Of Stone. You have your choice of Grey Edition or a Hand embellished edition.

 "This piece is a continuation of my last release “Outdoor Innerspace” also depicting an astronaut. It’s a playful way of looking at perception and exploration. This image, “We’re All Home, Floating Around on This Piece of Stone” comes from the thought that we are all here on this one piece of rock together floating through space. The astronaut is holding a piece of stone and inspecting it. It’s an ode to going out and exploring the place we live and being as intrigued as you would floating around finding space rocks.

This started out with an ink drawing on paper with the intention of making it into a multi-layer screen print. It was finished as a 6 layer print using 3 different fountain blends (gradients) within in the print. Each piece is hand pulled right in the studio at 1XRun in Detroit." - Jonny Alexander

Anothony Petrie RoboCop Poster Release By Skuzzles

Skuzzles' first movie poster of 2016 is something they've been working on since last spring with the extremely talented and detailed artist Anthony Petrie. Skuzzles are thrilled to finally release Anthony Petrie's RoboCop. They wanted to include some iconic characters from the film, but ran into issues with likeness and the initial release was delayed. After several months, they were finally able to negotiate the use of likeness for Kurtwood Smith's character Clarence Boddicker, thanks to Kurtwood himself--he's also the first person to receive this print.

The attention to detail that was put into this RoboCop print is absolutely insane. Throughout, you'll find an array of one liners and references from RoboCop. Here's what Anthony Petrie had to say about his work on RoboCop:

"Robocop is one of my all-time favorite movies, and he’s the subject in a lot of Hero pop culture references. That’s why I wanted to approach Robocop in a more unconventional way, visually depicting him in a more vulnerable state than we’re used to seeing. Thematically, this concept explores the duality of man and machine by drawing a graphic connection between Murphy’s organic —and inorganic— elements, with a darker and more dystopian palette."

For this RoboCop print Skuzzles did something new that they're hoping to continue for future limited edition screen print movie poster releases. If you already didn't know, limited edition pins are becoming very popular. Over the past year they had several people ask if they would ever get into selling collectible pins. Guy Burwell Van Morrison Los Angeles Poster

It's not very often you see a poster for a Van Morrison show. Guy Burwell was asked to do the poster for the show in Los Angeles at The Shrine Auditorium for two nights this month.

There are three color way for this print, with each night of the shows in Los Angeles having their own color version in editions of 175 with some sales benefiting victims of the recent Paris attacks. Show edition prints were accented either Emerald Green or Deep Red.
