Vertebrae33 A Perfect Circle Broomfield Poster Release

No comments:

A Perfect Circle have hit the road and getting some good posters for the shows. Vertebrae33 did the poster for the show in Broomfield recently.

I asked him about the design:
I was inspired by the lyrics from gravity:

"I am surrendering to gravity and the unknown
Catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live, I choose to live"

I am so psyched to have been picked to do a poster on this tour. I really wanted to do a design that was given enough room to breathe. Something that spoke to the viewer in the negative space as much as in the positive space.
He will be  selling the AP's of the poster in his store Tuesday, 4/18/17 at 8 AM EDT. There are only 25 available. 18x24 screen print poster signed by Vertebrae33.

Jermaine Rogers Houston Art Car Parade Poster And Art Prints Releases

No comments:

ArtCar or 'The Eternal Ride Of The Flawed & Bizarre' Art Print -
This striking new art print by Jermaine Rogers features three of our weird heroes: Frida Kahlo, Vincent Vangogh, and Andy Warhol. This image (initially created for the world-famous Houston Art Car Parade) is screen printed in 9 vibrant colors, including a subtle gradient fade. The spirit of the 'art car' is alive and well, as the pink-bunny-mobile carries our trio into eternity. This piece is specially priced, while supplies last.

(Opal Edition): Measuring approx. 24x19 inches and screen printed on rich Stardream opal gallery stock, this edition is limited to 20 signed and numbered pieces.
(Lava Foil Edition): Measuring approx. 24x19 inches and screen printed on sheets of holographic lava foil, this edition is limited to 20 signed and numbered pieces.

Houston Art Car Parade 2017 30th Anniversary Commemorative Print -
The official print commemorating the legendary Houston Art Car Parade for 2017 was sold at the event, and had a signed and numbered edition of only 85 pieces. Fortunately for all of you who fancy this print but were unable to attend the event, Jermaine Rogers is making available a handful of his artist proofs. These pieces measure 24x19 inches and are screen-printed on white gallery stock. A small amount of these are being offered, and they are specially priced by Jermaine, while they last.

- 'Melancholy' (prints #'s 1 & 2: 'David' and 'Frida') -
(#1) 'At times, David was absolutely covered in Melancholy...'
(#2) 'In the evening, Frida lay down with Melancholy...'

Introducing the first 2 mini-prints of the new 'Melancholy' series from Jermaine Rogers. These screen prints measure 10x8 inches and are signed by Jermaine Rogers. They are screen printed with rich inks on gallery stocks.

These prints examine the lingering (and sometimes crippling) presence of Melancholy, and how it shapes what we desire and expect, both from ourselves and from others. For the great majority of individuals, Melancholy has the power to divert their journeys, collapsing their confidence and their plans until they are rendered powerless. The common man or woman struggles to loosen themselves from Melancholy's grip...and when free, they bound away with the joy and satisfaction of the battle 'fought and won'.

Scattered to and fro, in between the masses, there stumbles the unfortunate among us. Regardless of the many measured attempts, Melancholy doggedly hangs on. It cannot be out maneuvered. It is an attached partner: it will never let go. To those who hold hands with Melancholy, the days would seem strange without it.

**Note: prints will be sold separately: no 'sets' at this time.

- (#1) 'At times, David was absolutely covered in Melancholy...'
(OPAL Edition): Printed on rich Stardream Opal stock. Signed by Jermaine Rogers.
(LAVA Foil Edition): Printed on sheets of holographic Lava Foil. Signed by Jermaine Rogers.

(#2) 'In the evening, Frida lay down with Melancholy...'
(OPAL Edition): Printed on rich Stardream Opal stock. Signed by Jermaine Rogers.

Sam Wolfe Connelly Resident Evil Poster Release By Mondo

No comments:

Mondo will have a brand new poster for one of their favorite survival horror video games, RESIDENT EVIL, by Sam Wolfe Connelly. When they first reached out to Sam for this project, he immediately took to it. His beautiful rendering of the series’ iconic zombie dogs is both grotesque and gorgeous and they couldn’t be more excited about Sam’s work here.
"Before even starting on this poster I knew exactly what I wanted to do for it. I remember playing this game as a kid for the first time at a friend's house with all the lights turned out. One of the first unexpected jump scares is a dog trying to snap at you through the mansion doors when you try to exit. Of course we all screamed like crazy and then tried to play it off like we weren't scared. I think that's a moment a lot of people shared with this game and series."-Sam Wolfe Connelly

Resident Evil by Sam Wolfe Connelly. 18"x24" screen print. Hand numbered. Edition of 150.

On sale at a random time Thursday on mondotees.com.

Spirit of Independence Shepard Fairey Print Release

No comments:

Shepard Fairey's connection to Nice Slice goes back to meeting Al Read in 1988 during the first week of his freshman year at RISD. Shep saw Al and his friend Mondo, who were sophomores, walking with skateboards on campus. Shep went up to them and asked if there were any half-pipes to skate in Providence and Al gave me a dismissive “uh, no.” However, he ran into Al and Mondo again a week later while street skating late at night, and they seemed impressed with his skills. In fact, Al asked if Shepard wanted to ride the half-pipe at his house! He reminded Al that he’d just told him a week before he didn’t know of ANY ramps in the area, much less his own, and he simply told him he had to make sure Shepard “wasn’t a kook” first!

Shepard talks about his long relationship with Al:
When Al founded Nice Slice in 2005, he asked if I wanted to take a crack at a logo design. I owed Al big time, so I did a couple of logos, and he liked one. He got a bunch of our other RISD friends to do sticker and box designs as well as doing a bunch of stuff himself. Al is loyal. In 2009 when I was doing my first solo museum show at the Boston ICA, Al made the hour drive several times to bring pizza to my crew and me. One day we headed to Providence and did a wheat-pasted mural in Nice Slice. Al was thankful, but actually, I was getting prime real estate in the coolest spot on hip Thayer Street in Providence.
I found out recently that Nice Slice is being evicted from that space prematurely by a greedy landlord as he and his partner Rob are working to open a new Nice Slice in a more “up-and-coming” area further west, not far from my old studio. The Nice Slice “Spirit of Independence” print is being released to celebrate and support Nice Slice. 100% of profits will go to moving and transition expenses for Nice Slice. Where else are you gonna get traditional and exotic varieties… including vegan?
Nice Slice, refusing to become soulless and blend in with the increasingly homogenized neighborhood, has opted to pull up and move its magic and mastery to the West Side of Providence. The Angela Davis mural is moving too. In their new digs, real pizza, a resistance to mediocrity and the renegade spirit of Nice Slice will once again soar.
Spirit of Independence. 18 x 24 inches. Screen print on cream Speckle Tone paper. Signed by Shepard Fairey. Numbered edition of 400. $45. 300 available Thursday, April 13 at 10AM (PDT) on ObeyGiant.com in Store under Prints and 100 available at Nice Slice (in-store only) on Saturday, April 15.
