Rene has just released a very ambitious series of prints. It's best if Rene describes them:
If you follow my twitter then you know I've been plugging away at this series for a couple of months.
I began this series on Marilyn Monroe for reasons beyond the reasons I used her years ago. Being an artist today, well any day for that matter, we are constantly being influenced by those who created before us and with us during our lifetime. I used her image originally because she was (is) still part of pop culture, obviously immortalized by Andy Warhol. I began to wonder what motivated Warhol and so many other artists to use her in the first place. Was it just about Warhol or was there more too it, more to her? I had questions, so I sought the answers. What I found is something I can't quite put into words but it moved me to create this body work.
I have had many inquiries on cost of originals and when will they be for sale. There are tentative plans to show the original work in May of next year in NYC. If there are any serious inquiries I may be able to work something out before the show - send email.
The paintings were printed onto metallic photo paper then face mounted to acrylic plexi glass. A special backer was also applied that is double sheeted with aluminum to add stiffness. Wooden slats are also mounted to the back of piece so it appears the image is floating off the wall. The result of the metallic paper with the acrylic plexi glass is truly stunning in person and very
difficult to photograph - so you will have to trust me.
Each piece measures 30 inches X 30 inches and is READY TO HANG, NO FRAME NEEDED.
Sleek & modern, you will not be disappointed with the quality on these.
Edition size is 10 of each image. All pieces have a small plate on the back indicating year of creation,
edition number, signature. Each piece also includes a COA
