Book Review: The Wall Modern Day Music Posters by Tom Booth
What do the greatest music posters of recent times all have in common? The very best are all in this book.
The Wall contains 91 designers, with 9 chapters of the most influential music posters of recent years. This anthology presents little quotes and blurbs from the artists and designers themselves to help paint more of a picture along side each poster in the book. Foreword by Taron Cochrane
The book is seperated into chapters according to: Illustration, Photography, Screenprint, Pattern, Textured, Typography, Retro, Simple, and Series.
The Wall is 157 page of amazing insight and pictures into the creative process of today's top artists. Many times you will see a poster but have no back story about what they are trying to convey and the process they went about to create it. All the images are full color along with details about who the artist is and their websites.
The other cool thing is he highlights a lot of artists you may not have known about before who are equally talented but dont get the attention they deserve.
The best part is ebook is free almost. The print version sold out and now you can get the ebook with nothing more than a Tweet on Twitter.
Tom has the second Volume out now as well titled The Wall Vol 2 Inside the Poster Studio, no relation this blog either haha.
Check them out HERE
