Neal Williams now has a hat trick of Soundgarden posters. It's hockey playoffs which is one of the best times of the year and when you score three goals in a game it's called a hat trick. Since Neal did the poster for tonight's Soundgarden show as well as last night, anyone going to tonight will score big time with this poster like they did last if they got one.
Once again I have the exclusive reveal for the poster for the show in Atlanta. Just like last night's poster this poster for tonight May 8 is 16 x 24 inches screen printed with 4 colors including a gold metallic ink both posters have editions of 160 signed and numbered.
I asked Neal about the two posters and his creative process:
Soundgarden's only request was that both Atlanta posters be very different from each other. But, being that they are for two shows in the same city on consecutive nights, I wanted to find some subtle ways to link them. I decided to make their differences the thing that united them. The main example of this is that in one, an ocean creature is brought into a dry land environment and in the other the ocean has overtaken land and become the main focus. Other contrasts include the compositions pointing in opposing directions (wheat creating downward pointing V's in one and the whale and building pointing upward in the other) and the warm vs. cool color palettes.- Neal
