Queens of the Stone Age were at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre last night in Morrison Colorado and
Emek did the poster for the show. The poster is a huge 24 x 34 inch silk screen. Emek will have it on sale in the coming weeks but not before he puts his Flaming Lips Portland poster on sale, so stay tuned.
I go to dozens of concerts a year and collect posters from each concert. This is the first time a poster has been sold out by the time I've arrived at the show. Was okay with that because he was selling a 100 more today, but then they sold out in less than 1 second. I was constantly refreshing the page, and immediately clicked buy now, and it directly sent me to the sold out page!? Complete fucking bull shit that people are selling them on eBay starting at $200 up to $700.
ReplyDeleteI live in Southwest Arizona flew to Denver to watch your show in Red Rock. I must say I think it was in poor judgement to have such a limited amount of posters to sell. We entered 35 mins after gates opened to find out that all the 150 posters were sold out. This was very frustrating, especially since they allowed one person to buy 5+ posters at a time. Then Emek sold out in less then 10 mins, well I am paying get a sold out notice during transactions. I think for your fans that were actually at your show you should had, had one poster available for everyone that wanted one. At least after you "sold out" at the show allow fans to order poster to be mailed to them. I had to save for weeks to go to your show, which I happily did. This is however one reason why it was so upsetting that at your show I could not buy your merchandise.
ReplyDeleteA very disappointed fan.

Me too. I really liked that poster. I was one of the first 100 people through the gates at the show but I didn't go to the merch stand right away because it was just me and my friend, and we wanted to get really good seats. I only found out about it as there was a girl a couple of rows below us who had one unrolled and it looked really cool. The merch stand said they sold out almost right away though :(. (On the upside, after the concert I treated myself and ended up buying a really awesome hoodie instead :D. I didn't want to wash it for ages as the lingering smell of pot reminded me of that Red Rocks night air atmosphere wherever I went! It was an awesome QOTSA evening). But it's too bad it was such a low poster run for such an awesome show. I wonder how much it was on EMEK's site before the instant 'sold out' happened?
