Jim Rugg makes comics, books, drawings, illustrations, and designs. His books and comics include Street Angel, Afrodisiac, the PLAIN Janes, Rambo 3.5, Notebook Drawings, and Supermag. He has exhibited drawings at iam8bit, Gallery1988, Mondo, and the Society of Illustrators. Honors include an Ignatz Award, The Pittsburgh Foundation's Investing in Professional Artists grant, and AIGA's 50 Books/50 Covers selection for best-designed books.
Jim did several drawings for the recent Mondo Gallery show It Didn’t Rot Our Brains, a tribute to EC Comics and Tales From the Crypt.
Jim has just released his first screenprinted poster for one of classic alien movies Plan 9 From Outer Space. It is 18 x 24 2 color screen print with an edition of 75.
He did the poster for Hollywood Theater for their Go Digital Or Go Dark campaign. The Hollywood Theater is run by a non-profit group called Friends of the Hollywood Theater in Pittsburgh
