David Welker will have a couple of killer new posters on sale tomorrow, Widespread Panic and The Black Keys.
Widespread Panic Spring Tour Variant
7 color screen print 15x22"- Signed & Numbered Edition of 60. With lots more details, subtleties and depth than the show edition.
$45
The Black Keys Roseland Variant
4 color metallic screen print 15x21" Signed & Numbered Edition of 30
Details from David on the poster:
"Well this took a little while but it was worth it for me to see it come together. I like to see variants become an evolution from the original editions whenever possible and this is another example of that. We added another hand drawn layer with tons of extra detail in a silver pearlescent blue. It's printed on French Night-Shift Blue and it pops like crazy in person. It's a 15x21" hand pulled, all metallic screen print in an edition of just 30 prints."-DW
Both posters go on sale Tuesday at 3pm EST at WelkerStudios.com
I almost forgot this as well. David Welker was enlisted to illustrate the label for Black Magic, a newly released black spiced rum.
"Rum has historically capitalized on its nautical legacy, but I wanted to do something that did more than pay lip service to that," said Ross Sutherland, creative director at Silver Fern agency and responsible for the project. "I fell in love with the idea of optical illusions in which the scenes double as skulls. David was the obvious go-to guy. He has a keen and steady hand that is considerably helped along by a wry eye." Thanks to B&A Reps for the info
