Jason Limon Hope For Albert XIII Print Release
1xRUN have a new print release today from Jason Limon titled Hope For Albert XIII.
"This piece is part of a year long series I've been calling "Monstrous Days". The idea is to read paranormal or unusual stories and create art using this material and sometimes expand on and add to them. This one fits right in with the other monstrous characters.
I've been focusing on stories of the strange and unusual lately. Sometimes I'll go read about our history with space travel to gather some ideas. I had seen some stories about the Russians and Americans sending animals into space to study them in and after flight. The Russians used a dog, as well as some other smaller animals and the Americans were doing the same, but were also using monkeys for space flight testing. The first of these test monkeys were named Albert with a roman numeral after the name. I believe it went up to Albert VI until they started using other names. I had imagined that they kept sending Alberts into space except advancing further with knowledge and skills. So Albert XIII is one of the later monkeys that learned more about traveling through space and other planets." - Jason Limon
