Century Guild sold out of these posters at this years SDCC but they saved one for you my loyal readers. The poster is 19.6 inches x 27.5 with a signed and numbered edition of 146.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Reba Darby and my favorite Clive Barker Story/Movie ext....now that is a hard one because everything i've seen or read i like....but i have to say my fav short story is "In the Hills, The Cities" from the first volume of the Books of Blood. My favorite book is Damnation Game (has my favorite quote "The point of temptation is some of the goods be worth the price" and my favorite movie, of course, is Hellraiser (i've had a crush on Pinhead since i first laid eyes on Him)

ReplyDeleteMy name is Michael Miller and my favorite Clive Barker story is In the Hills, the Cities!!! GREAT story, the imagery it evokes is incredibly powerful! I first picked up Books of Blood on a school field trip to Kansas City. We stopped at a truck stop for a break and I saw Books of Blood on a bookstand and snatched it up. The first story I read was In the Hills, the Cities and I KNEW I had stumbled onto something special! This was in the late 80's and I've been a loyal reader ever since!! Favorite film based on his work would have to be Nightbreed for so many different reasons, primarily because as the smallest kid in my class, I always felt "different" and often daydreamed of being a "shape-shifter" of some sort :)

ReplyDeleteWow, this is a lovely poster! Thanks for making it available to us like this! My favorite Clive Barker movie is Hellraiser though the series has elements I enjoyed overall. The cenobite design is so iconic to me. Stretched leather, skin pulled back and pinned down, hooks and chain, like walking autopsy art. Its absolutely beautiful and absolutely grotesque and I adore it.

Imajica is what I feel closest to, however, every book I've ever read from Clive Barker is my favorite because they all transport me to whatever realm that the particular book is in. The first book I ever read was The Inhuman Condition and I've been hooked ever since. I read it when I was 13 or so, I'm 30 now and I've read every book of his I could get my hands on.

In the hills the cities. The story stretched and warped my imagination in a great way. I can still see the giant staggering away to die, slowly disintegrating as tiny figures tumble from it, and all to a chorus of moans from the dying in my minds eye. Epic horror story.
