Malleus Clive Barker's Jacqueline Ess Free Friday Poster Giveaway
The last couple of years Century Guild has commissioned Malleus to create some spectacular posters and this year was no different as they had Malleus create one for Clive Barker's Jacqueline Ess which is part of his Books of Blood. The story is being turned into a film very soon.
Century Guild sold out of these posters at this years SDCC but they saved one for you my loyal readers. The poster is 19.6 inches x 27.5 with a signed and numbered edition of 146.
Now go to the top of the post above the picture and click on comments or scroll down (depends on how you see this post) to leave a comment about your favorite Clive Barker movie, book or story to have a chance at winning the poster. Don't worry if your comment does not appear immediately I have to approve them before they are published. I will use the Random Number Generator to pick a winner. Entries are limited to ONE PER PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD. Please leave your name with the comment, comments without names will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted until 11:59 PM PDT Saturday August 16 with the winner announced on Sunday.
Now if you don't want to wait and possible win this poster Malleus still has some for sale and Century Guild still has a couple of the Gold Edition of 40 that is signed by Clive Barker himself. Thank you to Century Guild for providing this beautiful poster for the giveaway as well.

ReplyDeleteI would never be able to pick a favorite, but 'Weaveworld' always stuck with me. Perhaps I owe it to the action or the fantasy, but I think, as with all Clive's work, I owe it to his cast of wet, visceral characters. Immacolata and her sisters still haunt me...

The Madonna
ReplyDeleteMy name is Reba Darby and my favorite Clive Barker Story/Movie ext....now that is a hard one because everything i've seen or read i like....but i have to say my fav short story is "In the Hills, The Cities" from the first volume of the Books of Blood. My favorite book is Damnation Game (has my favorite quote "The point of temptation is some of the goods be worth the price" and my favorite movie, of course, is Hellraiser (i've had a crush on Pinhead since i first laid eyes on Him)
ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite Clive Barker story is Mister B. Gone. It was the first Clive Barker novel I've read and it remains near and dear to my heart to this day.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Clive Barker story? Dread. That story gave me nightmares for years.
ReplyDeleteHellraiser...John

ReplyDeleteAnd should be yours, too!
CABAL Steve Savoie
ReplyDeleteI'm Melissa Conder and I love Midnight Meat Train!
ReplyDeleteFavorite story? The Body Politic. Those hands still haunt me to this day.
ReplyDeleteAbarat. I have not loved a series of books this much since I read Stephen King's Dark Tower. Beautiful work through and through. - Nate Oldham
ReplyDeleteMy name is Michael Miller and my favorite Clive Barker story is In the Hills, the Cities!!! GREAT story, the imagery it evokes is incredibly powerful! I first picked up Books of Blood on a school field trip to Kansas City. We stopped at a truck stop for a break and I saw Books of Blood on a bookstand and snatched it up. The first story I read was In the Hills, the Cities and I KNEW I had stumbled onto something special! This was in the late 80's and I've been a loyal reader ever since!! Favorite film based on his work would have to be Nightbreed for so many different reasons, primarily because as the smallest kid in my class, I always felt "different" and often daydreamed of being a "shape-shifter" of some sort :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this is reposting or not. Seems like it might have errored when I tried earlier. IF the first one worked, please disregard this one.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite CB story is the "The Great and Secret Show / Everville" story.
Mister B. Gone is a great book. Loved the whole thing.

Candyman was pretty full on, me being so young when it came out.
ReplyDeleteHellraiser!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a lovely poster! Thanks for making it available to us like this! My favorite Clive Barker movie is Hellraiser though the series has elements I enjoyed overall. The cenobite design is so iconic to me. Stretched leather, skin pulled back and pinned down, hooks and chain, like walking autopsy art. Its absolutely beautiful and absolutely grotesque and I adore it.
ReplyDeleteGreat poster, thanks for a chance!

Imajica is what I feel closest to, however, every book I've ever read from Clive Barker is my favorite because they all transport me to whatever realm that the particular book is in. The first book I ever read was The Inhuman Condition and I've been hooked ever since. I read it when I was 13 or so, I'm 30 now and I've read every book of his I could get my hands on.
ReplyDeleteHellraiser or Lord of Illusions being a very close second. One of the first horror flicks I saw in the theatres.

ReplyDeleteAllison kollmar
I like lots of his books. Weave World is the last one I've read.
ReplyDeleteSteven P.
In the hills the cities. The story stretched and warped my imagination in a great way. I can still see the giant staggering away to die, slowly disintegrating as tiny figures tumble from it, and all to a chorus of moans from the dying in my minds eye. Epic horror story.
ReplyDeleteCandyman for sure. I couldnt look in a mirror for a week.
