Dean Ween Group Joshua Marc Levy Charlotte Poster World Premiere Exclusive

Show Edition

Artist Edition
Joshua Marc Levy designed and produced the next 3 show posters for Dean Ween Group (aka Ween Minus) shows. They are a benefit for Dean Ween aka Mickey Melchiondo's studio project, which he is currently building. There will be a show edition of the poster and an Artist Edition of each poster. Check back here for the exclusive reveal of each nights poster.

Joshua on how this all happened and the design of the posters:

“My latest screen print series began when I saw Dean Ween’s Facebook post, asking fans to help build his recording studio project. At the same time, I spoke with concert promoter Sam Katz who was finalizing a deal to get the Dean Ween Group to come play Asheville at The Grey Eagle. It was an opportunity to produce a rock art screen print for one of my favorite bands, And help the band record more in the studio. The first poster design was received so well, we decided to design one for Charlotte, and then another for Atlanta. I now work exclusively with Blubus printers here in Asheville, and it turns out these guys are Ween fans too. It’s so cool the way the universe works sometimes. A lot of love and time went into this series from everyone involved. I played a lot of Ween rarities, b-sides and streamed DWG live gigs off of youtube while designing these prints.  Here’s a little about each print…

CHARLOTTE: “Tastes Good On The Bun”
"What is going on exactly: A future Spaceship Invasion attacks the Elite! Are they flying pork roll egg and cheeses!? cheeseburgers? They taste good on the bun. Topless alien babe, gets up in the morning and smokes a spliff. Boats, fish, melting acid demon, flirting hot dog, DWG eagle takes flight in white, God Ween Satan. The black layer of Charlotte was completely hand-drawn at print size using a uniball pen over the course of 2 days. No pencils or sketches. I had no concept, no idea where I was going, I just started drawing. A lot of risk was involved, especially after so many hours, and it paid off."

50% of the proceeds from sales of this series of posters, both at the shows and online, will go towards Dean Ween’s studio project. 50 copies of each 19x25” poster will be available at the shows for purchase. 10-20 variants for each of the 3 shows will go on sale Tuesday March 24 around Noon at www.AshevilleArtFamily.com etsy store.  The posters are printed on 140lb black French brand paper with metallic silver. Charlotte is printed on 140lb white French with neon ink. Any leftover show edition posters will be for sale as well.
