Seiko Kato Subterranean Art Print Release
Subterranean is a new giclee print (with a protective layer of silkscreened varnish) by Brighton-based collage artist Seiko Kato and released by Blind Stamp Editions.
Seiko is an avid collector of found objects and ephemera, finding inspiration particularly in Victorian encyclopaedia and medical illustrations. Her work shows a fascination in the macabre and surreal, mixing with playful elements and exploring life and death.
'Subterranean' is without doubt her finest piece to date. The skull is made up of body parts taken from Taschen's "Atlas Of Human Anatomy And Surgery", originally published in the mid-19th Century.
Blind Stamp Editions delighted with how the print turned out... it really captures the 3D feel of the original collage, and the black is super deep!
