Gemma is concentrating on her return to acting with a part in forthcoming Brit flick 'Boogie Woogie' alongside Jaime Winstone, Christopher Lee and Heather Graham, which is out soon.
She filmed a pilot for Channel Five, shot her 2009 calendar and made a cameo appearance in a C4 comedy pilot, Plus One, which has now been commissioned for a series. Gemma will also be treading the boards at Manchester Royal Opera house at Christmas playing the part of Peter Pan! She can also be seen in EA’s Red Alert 3: Comand and Conquer playing Lt Eva McKenna which is out now.
In September Gemma went to Cape Town to film Adrenaline Junkie with Jack Osbourne – swimming with sharks and bungee jumping out of helicopters were just a few of the adventures she undertook. Gem and her family also starred in ITV’s All Star Family Fortunes on this seasons Saturday night show. She’s currently filming another project for EA in America, is up for another Brit flick and looking forward to starting Peter Pan rehearsals at the beginning of November.
In March Gemma hosted the first ever play.com event at Wembley Stadium with Iain Lee which was transmitted on T4 over the Easter weekend 2008.
Back in March Gemma also travelled to Beijing where she took part in the great walk of China with Olivia Newton-John for Olivia’s cancer centre. Having appeared on ITV1’s hit show ‘I’m a Celebrity..Get Me Out of Here’ meant she was fully prepared for the grueling 60km walk uphill.
Gemma made a name for herself by playing Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks. She played Lisa for five years and proved her credentials as an actress covering topics of self-harm and bereavement.
Due to her characters popularity Gemma continued with late night Hollyoaks show, Hollyoaks: In the City.
