Make Cancer a No Brainer, an online auction to benefit brain tumor research, announced their 3rd annual auction will take place in partnership with Oligo Nation, the only non-profit focused on translational research for oligodendroglioma brain cancer, from May 22-31, 2016 at
www.nobrainerauction.com.
The Make Cancer a No Brainer online auction—featuring exclusive music and entertainment items and experiences—was started in 2015 by Brad Mastrine, whose wife Mindy was diagnosed with two Oligo brain tumors in 2012 just weeks before her 40th birthday. With more than 700,000 people in the U.S. living with brain tumors today and another 70,000 that will be diagnosed this year, the Mastrine family was shocked at how little funding there is for brain tumor research. What started as a grassroots campaign of a family wanting to make a difference has blossomed into a recurring, must-attend online event has raised more than $30,000 for research so far.
“Mindy’s diagnosis came with no warning signs and while after more than a year and a half of treatment she was doing well, as a husband and father of three young children, I couldn’t sit back and wait,” shared Brad Mastrine, founder of Make Cancer a No Brainer. “Brain cancer is far from rare and has one of the lowest long-term survival rates of all cancers. Five years ago there was no funding for medical research on Oligo brain cancer. By partnering with Oligo Nation we know that more than 95% of funds raised through the Make Cancer a No Brainer Auction will go directly to research.”
A partial list of items available during the auction include:
Concert tickets and/or VIP packages to Dave Matthews Band, Dead & Company, Bob Dylan, Jane’s Addiction, Twenty One Pilots, Phish, Seal, Country Jam USA, Chris Stapleton, The Brooklyn Bowl Ultimate Concert Experience package.
Meet & Greet packages with Bonnie Raitt, Big & Rich, Michael Franti & Spearhead
Signed merchandise from Phish, Jack Johnson, Alabama Shakes, The Avett Brothers, String Cheese Incident, Drive-By Truckers
