Iron Man 3 Posters by Martin Ansin & Phantom City Creative Mondo Release
This Friday Iron Man 3 opens with what maybe Robert Downey Jr.'s final movie for the franchise. Personal I hope it's not, he has made those movies. To mark the opening Mondo will release 2 new posters for the movie.
Toronto's Phantom City Creative designed a glow-in-the-dark, 24-inch-by-36-inch screenprint that features a bevy of the armor suits worn by the Marvel Comics character in the movies and the comic books. Only 250 are available in the edition, at $45 each.
"To me, Tony Stark's real superpower is his intelligence and ingenuity," says Justin Erickson of Phantom City Creative. "With the Iron Man 3 armory poster, I wanted to showcase that by featuring a schematic chart of all the Iron Man suits with Stark himself front and center."
The other two 24-by-36 posters — one standard, one a color variant — are by artist Martin Ansin and feature not only Downey but also Don Cheadle as Iron Patriot, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin and scenes from the movie. The standard edition is limited to 450 and costs $50, while the variant numbers 200 and is $75.
"It's Iron Man comics that led me into drawing when I was a little kid," Ansin says. "All it took for me to get hooked was an oversized shellhead collection by Tuska in black and white, magic markers and a week sick in bed. Doing this poster has been amazing luck — and a tough job, with that 5-year-old fan keeping tabs on it."

Gary Baseman & Shepard Fairey Partisan Print Obey Giant Release Details
In case you missed the release over the weekend of this print you will have another shot at it this week from Obey Giant.
I was very happy that the 200 “Partisan” prints available at Gary Baseman’s Skirball show sold out. I was unhappy to hear that some people commented that the poster contradicted my anti-assault rifle “God Saves and Satan Invests” print. The “Partisan” print is based on a photo of Gary’s father who escaped murder by the Nazi’s in Poland to join up with Russian paratroopers as a partisan. The print is about celebrating Gary’s family history and his father’s courage, not that he was forced to take up arms to survive. The circumstances in the case of Gary’s father are not comparable to Americans craving assault weapons in peacetime. Read more about Gary’s father below. 200 “Partisan” prints signed by me and Gary will be available on obeygiant.com Thurs.
-Shepard
The poster is 18 x 24 inch screen print. Co-signed by Shepard Fairey and Gary Baseman. Numbered edition of 400. $70
Release date: Thursday 5/2/2013 at a random time between 10am and 12 noon PST here.

Primus 2013 Spring Tour Poster Series Artist Line Up
Whoops he did it again... Zoltron has done it again...Everyone's favorite musical Trio, (No, not Peter, Paul and Mary) Primus is hitting the road again this Spring.
And guess what..? Zoltron has put together another insane Poster Series…. This tour will conclude with their 106th poster since he started the series a few years ago, which is pretty sweet considering they originally set out to make a series of limited edition beer cozies instead.
This time around, Zoltron called on a number of heavyweight poster artists to be involved and they all responded with such enthusiastic replies as, "yeah, i guess..." "umm, ok..." and "who's Primus..?"
But nonetheless, once again they have a list of All Star Artists, each of whom will visually represent a single Primus performance with a hand printed, silkscreen poster, flowing from the depths of their creative (and sometimes twisted) imaginations.
Each performance, excluding the festivals, will have roughly 100 posters available for purchase from the merch booth - and like every show in the past, he expect the posters to sell out quickly. As usual, Dave the merch guy will supply tubes to protect your newly acquired flat stock treasures.
The individual posters will be unveiled the night of each show, at the gig, on the Primus facebook page and at Zoltron.com. as well as on the blog.
The poster artists for this year's tour are alphabetically as follows:
Bask
Guy Burwell
Eddie Colla
Johnny Crap
Emek
Doe Eyed
Justin Hampton
Alan Hynes
Rich Kelly
123 Klan
Travis Lampe
Travis Louie
Jeremy Packer
Jermaine Rogers
Reuben Rude
Todd Slater
Jeff Soto

Nakatomi Mystery Tube Sale Coming This Week
Hold on to your keyboards folks it's happening again, the Nakatomi Mystery Tube sale is coming. Some how Nakatomi makes each Mystery Tube Sale better than the last one with all the goodies they include.
It’s been 6 months since the last Nakatomi-Wide TUBE SALE, and people’s wounds have almost healed, and so they’re ready to go again.
They have more tubes than ever before- about 250 already packed with a few more tubes-worth of prints waiting on stand-by…so hopefully those who want one can get one!
Starting somewhere between noon and 2pm CENTRAL TIME on TUESDAY the 30th, they’ll have tubes for purchase for $50 each. Each tube will have 5 prints in it-all suitable for framing. Some are considered ‘scratch/dent’ in that there’s minor printing flaws or a ‘soft’ corner, but nothing that won’t frame out. One print in each tube will be the final print in their portrait series by Tim Doyle that will never be available for purchase separately!
Test Sheets! They’re randomly inserting a totally awesome and unique test-sheet with orders!
“Unreal Estate” Scratch prints! Just about EVERY print from the Unreal Estate art show at SpokeArt in February was printed with a split fountain (the fade in the sky) and split fountains can be tricky to get just right. SO- they have about 40 of these (spread across 10 different images) that were just not perfect enough to make the cut, but too pretty to trash.
EXCLUSIVES!- stuff only available in THIS TUBE SALE!-
Not only do they have a smattering of the GreySkull print that was only available to attendees of the SpokeArt show back in Feb, but they’ve got 5 AP copies of Doyle’s ‘King of Baltimore’ Gold Foil edition, Never-Before- Seen 6 copies of Metallic Silver Oversized Edition of the Transformers Show Poster (edition of only 7!), they’ve got a HEAVY wood panel version of Doyle’s Deadwood Unreal Estate print that was never released (edition of 10), and that small one in the middle was a KRAMPUS holiday print for a portfolio that didn’t come together last year, that Doyle was a part of. None of these prints will ever be for sale on Nakatomi!
Original Tim Doyle Art. 12 original pencil and ink drawings done by Doyle that they’re throwing into this sale! Pictured below is original art from gigposters for Appleseed Cast, MC Chris, The Bellfuries, along with the drawing for The Fifth Element movie poster, stuff for SpokeArt and a ton more.
Plus a perfectly good copy of the Stainless Steel Change into a Truck from a while back. Guess they’re throwing that in there too!
Plus Mondo movie posters too. From Doyle’s personal collection, and stuff they just got in through trades and whatnot- they’re throwing in 5 of these long-gone old school Mondo posters. They could re-sell, em- but hey- they’d rather just give them to YOU.
This is only a small selection of what’s going in these tubes, with plenty more surprises!
Nakatomi will put these up for sale at a random
time between noon and 2pm Central Time on Tuesday 4/30- and then tweet
the sale link a few minutes later. You can follow Tim Doyle on twitter HERE.
PS- there is a slight chance they might do a
super-late / early morning mini-sale of these to help out international
folks over the weekend. That will be announced when it happens on Twitter.
