"Love is Dangerous" is the centerpiece and fourth print (of 7) in the ongoing "Love Is" series created by artist Maxx242.  The series will address the different factions of love, such as "Love is Blind", "Love is Work" and "Love is Sacrifice".  As an artist, Maxx242 has always enjoyed telling stories along with his pieces. And in creating those pieces, love has always played an important role.  This series will showcase his appreciation and interpretation of love.

Alexander Hanke Notwist and Cloud Nothings Posters

Alexander Hanke has a couple of  cool looking new posters on sale and lets you know the story behind the design.

01 The Notwist:

The idea is a clash of images but mainly based on a recent live recording The Notwist released, which is called „Supervillains & Ghost stuff“. The idea for that title is based on the book/TV-series called „The Sea Wolf“ by Jack London. Where one of  main characters is the antithesis to Nietzsches „Übermensch" or super-man. That picture of a super-man figure got stuck in my head and also that another part of the cast in the book runs ashore on a lost island. In the end the super-man character drifted more in a direction of an ape because of a track by The Notwist called „Kong“.

02 Cloud Nothings

The idea behind this print is mainly based on the band name. The atmosphere colours are a contradiction to Cloud Nothings low-fi and unpolished sound. Also that the bright world the caracter lives in is broken by this fallen cloud.

Prometheus Poster by Gabz Release From Grey Matter Art

In partnership with Acme Archives and Dark Ink, under license from 20th Century Fox, GMA will be revealing a new screen print for the film, “Prometheus” by the very talented artist, Gabz (Grzegorz Domaradzki). GMA have always been huge fans of the Alien franchise, director, Ridley Scott, and H.R. Giger, and they couldn’t be more thrilled with how this print came out. “Prometheus” comes in 2 separate editions, a regular & variant edition.

This is Gabz's artist statement regarding "Prometheus":

'I've been a fan of Alien franchise since the very beginning and always enjoyed terrifying yet mesmerizing worlds created by Sir Ridley Scott, so I couldn’t be happier for having a chance to work on an officially licensed print for Prometheus. The idea for this poster struck me after re-watching it for the third time and I almost instantly started drawing... For me it was a sort of back to basics, because the image was entirely made with pencils on paper, later scanned and digitally enhanced in Adobe Photoshop, and later color separated for screen printing. I’m pleased to say it’s practically a personal work and really wanted to thank Grey Matter Art guys, Acme Archives Limited and Dark Ink Art for letting me do this piece my way. The idea was to depict Architect’s pale and godly profile with a human fetus inside his skull. Attentive viewer should be able to spot at least few references to xenomprph and H.R. Giger’s work that inspired "worlds scariest alien”. The title is “Creator of Men” or simply “Architect” and my intention was to yet again pay homage to Polish Poster School which is very close to my heart not just because of my origin. With this print I also wanted to somehow recollect my earlier years, back when I was an art student and was absolutely obsessed with anatomy and human body in general. Hope fans of the franchise will appreciate my take on the film."
