I dont think you need any more proof the Republican party does not care what happens to America. They would rather see the American people continue to struggle then actual do something and get the country back on track. This is scary that they would forsake THE PEOPLE, the people that they are supposed to be working for in order to push their ideas which they dont even share. If the Republicans are so smart why hasn't bush, cheney or rove been campaigning?
What should be the top priority for the next Congress? Creating jobs? Fixing the economy? Addressing the foreclosure crisis? If you’re Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the top priority for the next Congress should be to hamstring President Barack Obama. McConnell, the Republican set to become Senate majority leader should his party retake the U.S. Senate next week, told the National Journal, “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.... Our single biggest political goal is to give our nominee for president the maximum opportunity to be successful."
Translation: Forget creating jobs and forget fixing the economy. The main goal of a Republican majority in the Senate would be to do anything and everything to stymie President Obama and deprive him of any success that he may be able to use in a re-election commercial. The problem with the Republican plan is that by spending all their time trying to trip up President Obama, they would also destroy hope for fixing the economy and putting Americans back to work.
Forget the fact that millions of Americans are unemployed and losing their homes, what the country needs is an expensive and lengthy congressional investigation into whether President Obama is truly a U.S. citizen. So what if President Obama comes up with legislation to help jobless Americans, we must filibuster it to death simply because the idea came from Obama.
A Republican majority in congress would mean that the party of “no” would become the party of “no” on steroids. Gridlock in Washington, not progress toward ending the Great Recession, should be the priority. That’s not my opinion, that’s the opinion the most powerful Republican in Congress: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

ReplyDeleteYeah I second that! Stick to the posters man!
ReplyDeletethis is a belated comment : ) thanks for the GREAT blog post. there aren't too many people that CARE anymore (never mind understand what's really going on). and some people don't realize art is an intense appreciation of life. in other words, if you don't care what's happening in the world, how can you really care about "art"? Keep up the great work.
