With Gig Posters, it isn't enough to love a piece of art. You have to do something about it.
Following Daniel Danger, Kevin Tong and Jay Ryan, this film will explore a new school of Gig Poster artists who have expanded their repertoire to include art inspired by books, films, music and TV. Stepping even father beyond the bounds, we will see these artists explore solo shows, bringing a Gig Poster aesthetic to their independent creations.
Today the team was in New York filming Daniel Danger setting up his show at Tara McPherson's Cotton Candy Machine Gallery. That's where the picture above was taken.
They also need help funding the project. By helping them fund the project you can get a huge variety of prints in return. Such as they'll send you an 8 x 11 inch screenprint by one of their featured artists (Daniel Danger, Jay Ryan, Kevin Tong). AND they'll send you a dated & numbered screenprint from an EMERGING POSTER ARTIST of your choosing (which you can see on the webpage). You could even have Daniel Danger come to your hometown, make you macaroni and cheese and personally screen the film for you and a group of your friends, with a Q and A session afterward.
Check out the webpage about the film HERE and help them in what is going to be a great film about what we all love.
