Marc Aspinall A Wrinkle In Time Movie Poster Release From Mondo

On Thursday in partnership with their friends at Cyclops Print Works, Mondo will have a gorgeous new poster for A WRINKLE IN TIME by Marc Aspinall! Ava DuVernay's re-telling of this iconic children's book is truly a visual feast. Marc's composition beautifully combines the quiet stillness of Meg's bedroom with the lush and vivid landscapes that await their adventure to rescue their father. The folks at Mondo were blown away by his use of color and ability to capture the magic of imagination.

"I remember having wallpaper in my bedroom that was adorned with characters and clouds, and it inspired the dual composition. The wallpaper is coming to life, exploding around Meg and her siblings. Much like how time is manipulated in the film, I'm doing similarly with space and perception. I really wanted to bring that feeling of color, immediacy, larger-than-life landscapes juxtaposed with the quiet contemplative middle portion, hinting at two contrasting realms that somehow meet in the middle." -Marc Aspinall

Marc Aspinall Dancer in the Dark Movie Poster Release By Black Dragon Press

In collaboration with Zentropa (DK) Black Dragon Press are delighted to release a new poster for Lars Von Triers' 'Dancer in the Dark' by Marc Aspinall. 'Dancer in the Dark' is a film that leaves no one unmoved so we wanted to work with an artist who understands nuance and can effectively transmit emotion through their work. This is their first collaboration with Marc, and based on this illustration it will certainly not be their last. 'Dancer in the Dark' by Marc Aspinall will go on sale this Friday 19 May at 3pm UK time (BST) which is 10am EDT in the Black Dragon Press Shop from an edition of just 55 copies.

Matthew Woodson Drive And Marc Aspinall Microbe & Gasoline Posters Mondo Release

Last week Mondo had a poster for Nicolas Winding Refn's newest film, THE NEON DEMON, and on Thursday Mondo wil have a poster for one of their favorite films from his back catalog: DRIVE. Refn's sordid tale featuring the stoic, unimaginably cool Driver is one of our favorite movies of the last few years and they're beyond excited to release a great new poster for the film by the wonderful Matthew Woodson.

“With this poster I wanted to find a way to evoke the actual character of "The Driver." His meticulousness, his style, his stillness, and his violence. I wanted this poster to feel as calm and dangerous as the film’s lead.” - Matthew Woodson

Michel Gondry’s MICROBE AND GASOLINE tells the story of two young friends who embark on a road trip across France in a homemade house-on-wheels. In their journeys they encounter a cast of characters including bumbling cops, gangs, prostitutes and an overzealous dentist.

In partnership with Screen Media Films Mondo had one of their favorite illustrators, Marc Aspinall, create a one-sheet for this film. They all loved the final piece so much we tasked printmaker extraordinaire, Dan Black, with turning Marc’s whimsical painting into a screen print.
