I am totally fascinated with woodblock and Letterpress art, it is real old world craftsmanship. It is a real hands on approach to creating art and it is not easy. After drawing the image the artist then carves into woodblock in order for the ink to get applied to the paper. So when Bobby Rosenstock offered his Soundgarden poster to you my faithful readers of course I could not resist.
This is the official poster for the Soundgarden concert from May 22, 2013 in Kansas City. This 6-color woodcut and letterpress poster was carved in birch woods and printed on to a cover stock paper using a Vandercook cylinder press. Measures 12.5" x 19", limited edition of 225. Comes signed and numbered.
Now go to the top of the post above the picture and click on comments or scroll down (depends on how you see this post) to leave a comment (maybe your favorite Soundgarden Song) to have a chance at winning the poster. Don't worry if your comment does not appear immediately I have to approve them before they are published. I will use the random number generator to pick a winner. Entries are limited to ONE PER PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD. Please leave your name with the comment, comments without names will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted until Midnight PDT Saturday August 10 that's almost two days to enter with the winner announced on Sunday.
HUGE THANK YOU to Bobby Rosenstock for providing the poster for the giveaway. Be sure to check out his work at http://justajar.com/ and if you don't want to wait to win the poster you can buy all his work HERE
