Dan Quintana Foil Print On Sale

No comments:

Dan Quintana has released a new piece of work with 1xRUN titled Foil, no it's some crazy variant poster.

"This piece was part of my recent collaborative show with artist Karen Hsiao titled Perverse Foil. While creating this piece, I feel as if I’ve moved forward in my painting of skin tones. I personally feel that the refinement in oils has improved from the Nova and Foil paintings. I feel that one can never stop learning. The title Foil coincided with the subject of the paintings theme. The term foil can mean to prevent (something considered wrong or undesirable) from succeeding. The subject here is wearing a boxing helmet as a symbol to go without a fight." - Dan Quintana

Dan Quintana Nova Print Release

No comments:

Dan Quintana has a new print release with 1xRUN on Wednesday, the print is titled Nova.

"The piece did have a theme that was based around the title: Nova. This case the planet earth, bright with all of its life shining LIKE a star in the universe destined to fall under the demise of mankind, inevitably leveling up into a supernova only to graduate with a stellar explosion. Boom.

The painting came from a similar drawing titled “Destructo.” The idea came about from all of the man-kind self destruction stories and allegories." - Dan Quintana

Dan Quintana In The Chamber Print Release

No comments:

1xRUN welcomes back Dan Quintana for his newest RUN, In The Chamber. Be on time for this one, I'm sure it will sell out like all his other prints.

"This piece was created using ink on vellum paper as part of my 2011 show, Tinsel. The exhibit took place at Copro gallery, Santa Monica, CA. This and a few other ink pieces were my first ink drawings to exhibit.

I feel what makes us human is the power to reason, choice and fate follow. I wanted to take an object/device/mechanism that applied with these three to represent the human form. What better form than something created by humans that can destroy humans, the gun. What I am still left wondering about is the forth element on what is in the chamber of the gun." - Dan Quintana

In The Chamber is a 17 x 14 Inches Archival Pigment Print on 300gsm Museum Bright White Fine Art Paper with a signed and numbered edition of 150

Dan Quintana Zero Instruments Print On Sale Today

No comments:

"This painting is a solid bridge to my new work. A female figure is being taken held hostage/possession by an outside entity or quite possibly her own demons. Whether she’s taking pleasure by this situation is unknown. I am obsessed with the idea of the mind creating it’s own worlds of possession and separating the consciousness to the unconsciousness state of mind. I used oil paints on wood panel to create this piece. It will take part as the centerpiece for my upcoming show “Zero Instruments” held in San Francisco at Vanish Fine Art on May 25th." - Dan Quintana

"These (musical) devices will serve as an allegory… Our hearts and minds are a concerto of one. In this case, zero. The essence has and will always remain. Savage." Dan Quintana said of the upcoming exhibition at Vanish Fine Art.

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, painter Dan Quintana channels a style reminiscent of the late Hieronymus Bosch, but with a modern twist. The tones, brushwork and overall technique of Quintana yield a result which pays homage to the great 13th century master, but it is his subject matter, and re-imagining of today’s “earthly delights” that puts his work in a class all of its own.

This print by Dan Quintana that 1xRUN is releasing today is simple breath taking. The beauty and detail really is some next level work that words can not justify.

"This original painting was created with oil on wood over the course of a year starting in January of 2011. The scene captures some of the Golden era of Hollywood. Since I was born in raised in Los Angeles and grew up on classic films, I wanted to recreate the same feeling I received in watching those films through means of paint in a modern way." - Dan Quintana
