Michael Franti & Spearhead poster by EMEK on sale now

No comments:

World renowned rock poster artist Emek created this beautiful artwork for Michael Franti & Spearhead. Limited Edition Print, all posters are signed and numbered by the artist Emek. Poster size is 18 x 24.

Posters will be sent rolled into a mailing tube. Limit of 2 per order. The artwork was created for the Terminal 5 show in New York City on Thursday October 28, 2010.

Here is Emek's description of the art:

"Basically, an idea came to me in a dream, so I thought I would pitch it- its a little different, but I know I can make it artistic...the setting is a lonely old man sitting on a park bench feeding the pigeons as a discarded newspaper blows by...closer inspection reveals the pigeon is actually a peace dove, and in the man's hand is the earth(... a metaphor for God?). I realize this is a very non-traditional looking poster, but thats what I think might make it stand out" - Emek

Of Montreal at The Warfield Poster by Chuck Sperry on sale today

No comments:

Chuck was monkeying around with this image, and he may be no genius, but he does share 98% of his genome with our friends depicted here. Seemed like a good image for such a fun and extremely experimental and psychedelic band like Of Montreal. Certainly a poster for those of you with evolved tastes.

Pop-Sub Vol. 2 Fast Food Death by Aye Jay and Nakatomi

1 comment:

VCJ’s print is on full-bleed metallic silver ink!

From the Man himself, Aye Jay-
“First things first, this was not the intended second edition of the POP-SUB! Michael Munter and I have been cooking up something special, with a theme based on something near and dear that became way bigger than intended (and will actually branch out into two suites!) So- it took a little longer. That being said, today’s release and Munters will be spaced closer together. Fer yer health!
There are a few artists who made me want to do what I do, and this suite’s guest artist is one of them. Growing up, Vance Court Johnson’s (VCJ) work was the holiest of holies. His art for Powell Peralta is still viewed by many as the best skate art ever ( apologies to Jim Phillips, Pushead, and Mark Mckee!) and his work made me want to do skate decks, t-shirts, stickers, and posters. His art showed me the power of solid technique, iconography, and in your face radness. His work is timeless, and is just as great today as it was over twenty years ago.
VCJ is the man, and i owe him many thanks, and know many an artist that feels the same way.
He is also a bit of a myth, being that he dropped out of skate art for many, many years, and only within the last few has resurfaced to the skate world with his work for Pocket Pistols skates. All credit for this is due to Matt French (an insane artist as well as skater) and Chicken that this suite is possible, as they trusted me to make a quality print of a piece that not only represents VCJ but their company as well.
These dudes rule, in other words.
Since the guest artist was a hero to me, and his piece is a skeleton working a fast food window, I took a suggestion from my good friend Matt Loomis and had the theme of this suite represent “fast food death” mixing some pop culture consumerism with a tribute to the VCJ skulls i know and love. I Had a blast drawing them, so I hope you like it too.
See you sooner than you think….
Aye Jay!”

This set of the POP-SUB includes 3 hand-printed Mini-silkscreens, packed in a 7″ chipboard CUSTOM PRINTED jacket with a plastic outer sleeve for safe keeping! This set is limited to 100 worldwide. Please note, a good portion of the edition is already EATEN UP by subscriptions, so don’t wait on this!

This set sells for $30, BUT- you can still pick up a subscription for the first six releases, which includes this set, and the already released volume 1 for $120, or $20 a set! Save yourself some cash to pick up MORE BURGERS and get a Pop-Sub Pop-Art SUBSCRIPTION!
Volumes 1 and 2, and the subscription are for sale HERE in the Nakatomi Store!

Rubber Stamp and Letterpress Print by Jay Ryan on sale NOW

No comments:

Two-color letterpress print measures 3.25" x 3.25". Rubber stamp measures roughly 2" by 2". Jay Ryan's letterpress piece is a two-color print on an archival 300gsm Crane's Lettra natural white printmaking paper. The artwork has been blind-debossed with the artist's name and printer's mark. The artwork was illustrated by Jay Ryan. It was colored and printed in Providence, Rhode Island by DWRI Letterpress.

Jay's rubber stamp is vulcanized rubber on a wooden mount. It was manufactured in Providence, RI by my dad's old hockey buddy from the 1960s. With the proper ink, you can stamp it on pretty much anything.

New Prints from Jacob Borshard and Nakatomi

3-D Edition!

Outer Space Destiny!
He comes at night to melt your brain!
He won’t get his damn hands off her!
In 3-D!

This is an absolute first for Nakatomi: an honest to goodness 3-d print!

Jacob Borshard’s newest blast from the past is this time and space bending one sheet from the seminal 1955 Sci-fi cult classic. Well, maybe it doesn’t exist in our reality per se, but it IS a classic in the time paradox Jacob promises to create as soon as he gets a new fuel pump for his DeLorean.

But that’s not all! Jacob has outdone himself by literally cheating the laws of physics to create a print that pops out in three dimensions! Simply view this print with standard Red/Blue 3-d glasses and your brain will melt in amazement and wonder as reality multiplies in lifelike Depthovision! Yes, depth! You’ve never seen anything like it!

"From A Basement In Seattle" Poster Book by Brad Klausen available for Pre-Order

No comments:

Yeah I forgot to post this yesterday.

From Brad:
After many months, the book is now finally done and ready for pre-order. The book is softbound, 10.75" x 12.5", 156 pages and covers 70 posters I've created over the past 6 years, including sketches, parts, and stories behind the process and inspiration of each one. Jeff Ament wrote the forward and Eddie Vedder wrote the introduction.

The book is available for pre-order on the site now, under the "BOOKS"
link within the 2010 year.

The book is $25 plus shipping and all copies sold on my site are signed by me.

Books will ship towards the end of November.

Each book is packaged separately, so if you order more then one book shipping will be charged for each book purchased. Unfortunately we can't pack multiple books together.

Also, since we can't roll books into tubes, if you purchase any posters along with a book, you will be charged separate shipping for the posters (which are packed in a tube) and the book (which is packed in padded envelope)

Originally I had hoped to offer a small print to go along with the book purchase, unfortunately there just wasn't any time to work on something and have it done in time. So, I can only offer a signed copy of the book.

I am currently in the process of moving (yet again) and because of this won't have access to my computer and the internet until some time next week. So if you encounter any trouble with the site or email with any questions, please allow about a week for a response... it
may take me a few days to get set back up and online.

Brad will also be selling his Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam Bridge School posters next week also
