Danny Steinman Grateful Dead Enamel Pins Release

No comments:

Chase Pin

Bottleneck Gallery are closing out the week with their newest pin project with Deadhead extraordinaire Danny Steinman!

The Grateful Dead, and so many other jam bands, have a deep-rooted history with official and handmade items sporting their established symbols, and pins are a major, timeless facet of band art. BNG have teamed up with Danny Steinman, whose art is a swirling kaleidoscope of details often inspired by music to create some truly psychedelic pins, inspired by the Dead Bolt.

To make things a little more fun, they’ve added a limited edition chase of 250 "Gold Deep Space" that will show up FREE in random orders! The more pins that you order, the greater the chance of scoring this chase as it is not available for purchase.

Danny’s pins will be available for purchase for 24hrs starting on Friday 1/29 at 12PM EST through Saturday January 30 12PM EST in the Bottleneck Gallery Store.

N.C. Winters Bad Omen Variant Art Prints Release

No comments:

N.C. Winters is happy to finally be announcing Wave Two (of two) of his recent Bad Omen release. He split the run into two drops to better handle orders of multiple variants. The cotton rag paper is pretty beefy, and even two variants in one tube was pushing it he said. These are the last variants (a total of four- two colorways, in both regular and hand embellished) for this print.

In addition to the penultimate “Vintage” scheme, N.C. couldn’t resist a desaturated monotone colorway. A big part of why he always like a print completely devoid of color is that he gets to show off the painstaking line work these prints take.

 Says N.C.

Ultimately, I feel most skilled with detailed linework, with color being my less strong suit. The “Mono” variant lets me emphasize my strengths. In it you can see the image reduced down to the main four shades of transparent brown that make up the full tonal value range of the print. There’s something about this one I particularly love, as to me it ends up feeling a bit like an old weathered etching. It makes the subtle washes in the hand embellished versions of these some of my favorites of the four (don’t tell Vintage).
Bad Omen “Vintage” colorway
Print size: 18″ x 24″ limited edition of 75.
Seven color screenprint including spot clear varnish on Neenah cotton rag paper.
Edges hand-torn for a unique deckled edge.
Each print is hand signed & numbered. $150 each

Bad Omen “Mono” colorway
Print size: 18″ x 24″ limited edition of 50.
Four color screenprint on Neenah cotton rag paper.
(Please note that there is no spot gloss on this version)
Edges hand-torn for a unique deckled edge.
Printed by End Hymns.
Each print is hand signed & numbered. $100 each.

The prints go live in N.C. Winters Online Shop this Friday, January 29 at a random time after 2:30PM EST.

Zeb Love Grateful Dead Artist Proof Prints

No comments:

Zeb Love has released his AP copies of the Grateful Dead print he did for Bottleneck Gallery recently.

Says Zeb

This was actually the very first thing I drew last year when quarantine started in March. I completed it about 5 months later, and was one of the first finished posters I had made in what seemed like forever. It felt so great to be back in the print shop and mixing colors and seeing something come to life again. This is a 6 color silkscreen, built up in layers of transparent inks.

Available now in Zeb Love's Store.

Nicolas Delort Nostalghia Movie Poster Release & More

No comments:

This week Black Dragon Press are teaming up with MONDO and releasing two new posters paying homage to films by two giants of world cinema: Andrei Tarkovsky's ‘Nostalghia’ and Carl Theodore Dreyer's ‘The Passion of Joan of Arc’.

Nico Delort's art direction in their previous Tarokvsky posters was just about perfect, so it seemed like the right thing to do to ask him to turn to illustrating the latest poster in the series: Trakovsky's study of homesickness ‘Nostalghia’. Delort's masterful use of composition and value really shine through in this appropriately beautiful and elegant poster.

‘Nostalghia’ is an 18" x 24" screenprint from an edition of 200.

Zi Xu is a new artist for BDP, but they suspect they will be working with her again and again. Like Dreyer's tragic masterpiece Zi does not pull any punches and delivers a gut-wrenching portrayal of Joan of Arc that gets you right in the feels. At the same time energetic and sobering, this poster delivers.

‘The Passion of Joan of Arc’ comes in two editions. A UK variant from an edition of 50, and a US red variant also from an edition of 50.

Posters are available now in the Black Dragon Press Store and at Mondo.

Maison54 Collection N.C. Winters Jim Mazza & Bioworkz Relic Print Release

No comments:

Invisible Industries is proud to announce the first print in a series of 3, for its high-end Maison54 Collection. A three artist collaboration in the tradition of the surrealists, gathered together digitally to produce something exceptional.

About the Project:
“In the early 1900s, a few surrealists in France gathered at an old house in Montparnasse, 54
Rue Du Chateau. There, they created and played a parlor game they called “exquisite corpse”. The rules are simple, one artist starts one section of a drawing and passes it to the next artist, who, while only being able to view a small part of the previous section adds to the drawing. This fun method inspires new and exciting compositions.

Long time art collector Guadalupe Villanueva is acting curator, inviting some of the best working artists today in groups of 3 to keep this tradition alive in the current digital age, all while producing high-end black and white limited edition archival screen-prints for discerning collectors. Pre-sale purchasers are given a chance to vote on the print title to potentially inspire the art, however artists have complete artistic freedom.

Print Info:
Three artists collaborate on each 18×24 inch screen-print
Archival cotton 250 gsm paper with hand deckled edges
Single color black main image
Gold color ink signatures printed below the art and small icons for each artist
Print title, series & print number and year in small type below the art
Hand-numbered and Hand Embossed with the MAISON54 logo
Maximum Edition Size is 354
Each artist receives 20 red variant AP’s for themselves

Purchasing:
Prints are pre-sold through the private Maison54 Collectors group on Facebook
Spaces in the group are limited to 354 purchasing spots maximum
This highly collaborative process will take time to produce. Each artist gets about 2 weeks time to fully complete their section before we go to print, emboss, and number. Expect 3 or more months from the presale to when we begin shipping. Print one in the series is now complete but there are still spaces for the next print by EMEK, MUNK ONE AND LUKE MARTIN!!

Motley Crue Too Fast For Love Luke Preece Print Release

No comments:

Mötley Crüe had a growing reputation as a must-see act in clubs before they released their debut record in 1981, Too Fast for Love... 38 minutes and 49 seconds of pure energy by a band with no stylistic limitations or pressures from a label. The result of the unadulterated process spawned seminal cuts like "Live Wire," "Take Me to the Top" and the title track, along with "Merry-Go-Round."

In addition to being the band's 40th Anniversary, it is Too Fast For Love's 40th Anniversary later this year, and Collectionzz is kicking off a year of celebration for the World's Most Notorious Rock Band than with these rocking prints by Luke Preece!

"I wanted the art to have that classic 80s California sunset vibe. Except, this is where Motley Crue invaded the Sunset Strip and took over... Hence the leather glove, studs, skulls and pentagrams - which is a nod to the theatrics of the stage show. I intentionally chose the red / black / white colour palette as it ties in nicely with the original cover artwork for Too Fast For Love..." - Luke Preece
Main Edition - $65.00
Size: 18" x 24"
Edition Size: 150 Hand Numbered
Paper: Five Color Screenprint on French White Stock
