Todd Slater’s art is unmistakable, a fluid melding of patterns and striking imagery, often involving animals, and always feeling expansive regardless of the subject of the piece. Todd’s piece for Bottleneck Gallery's Grateful Dead Artist Series sees Todd’s signature pattern work in full bloom, with a lovely Japanese spin on things. With a band as eclectic as the Grateful Dead, Todd’s print helps this poster series match that.

Rush 2112 The Temples of Syrinx Print By Palehorse Release

No comments:

RUSH's remarkably daring 1976 release of the dystopian future, sci-fi concept album 2112 turned 44 years old on April 1, 2020; and Iconic by Collectionzz’s is releasing an officially licensed RUSH print titled "The Temples of Syrinx," by the amazing Palehorse Design.

"Following a series of multi-planetary cataclysms in the year 2112, a federation of demonic, interplanetary rulers, masquerading as divinely inspired priests have taken control of the remaining citizens, eliminating all traces and relics of mind-expanding tools of self-discovery. The Priests of the Temples of Syrinx promise safety, security and order under their control, but at the high price of denying individuals the freedom to explore their own consciousness and express themselves creatively. But the tyranny of this cosmic imbalance can never last! RUSH reminds us that the creative life force that permeates the universe, lives within every sentient being and will always return to destroy fear and injustice when the scales are tipped. When we harness the power of imagination, we become unbound by the fear of death and scarcity, no-longer shackled by deception and becoming free to explore this life with hungry mind and open eyes!" - Palehorse

Alan Campbell & Nicholas Moegly Print Releases

No comments:

Bottleneck Gallery have a couple of releases with some new artists they are working with but the artists aren't new to most or you. Personally I'm happy to see Alan Campbell's work hitting a bigger audience, he is a good bloke that works hard to create his art and wont take the easy way like most.

Alan Campbell’s newest print, inspired by brilliant author Haruki Murakami’s ‘After Dark’, incorporated elements from the single night in Tokyo described throughout the original story. Alan’s alternative book poster is a perfect pairing with the original story, and we encourage everybody to read the book!

After Dark by Alan Campbell
Screen print with metallic inks
18 x 24 inches
Hand-numbered edition of 50
Variant edition of 25

Nicholas Moegly’s debut print for us is an absolute stunner, portraying a single, peaceful moment between nature and man as a lone deer looks out onto a quiet suburban street. Nicholas’ work has fascinated us for a while, and his ability to mix realistic architecture with moody and evocative scenes is an exciting combination.

Alan and Nicholas’ prints will be available on Thursday (4/23) @ 12PM ET on our homepage, Bottleneckgallery.com!

Emek Masthay Lovato Bicycle Day Blotter Print Releases

No comments:

Shakedown Gallery has another fine offering for Bicycle Day this year,

Need some weird art to tide you over while you shelter in place?

Emek plundered deep into the neuroses of a nation and dredged up the Plague Blotter. Titled, “Los Dose Plague Bros: The Quarantweakers, Lickit and Covidiot,” you're going to want to be sure to wash your hands before and after handling this one. And for all that is holy in the world, DO NOT PUT IT ON YOUR TONGUE!

While the rest of the designs on the site will be released at 9 AM Pacific on 4/19, the Plague Blotter print set will be released on Bicycle Day at 10 AM Pacific. Emek prints are limited to one print per color scheme per address until midnight. (Buyers can buy one each of red and purple. If prints are still available at 12:01 on 4/20, you are welcome to scoop up extras as gifts or for trades.)

AJ Masthay presents "Peaking," a beautiful interpretation of the classic Grateful Dead Skull and Roses motif. This print will drop with the others on the site at 9 AM Pacific and in an effort to give everyone a fair shot at walking away with a print, we also ask that no more than one print per household gets scooped up prior to midnight.

PangeaSeed A Stay-At-Home Mural Festival for Our Planet

No comments:

Hope you are doing well and staying safe during these challenging times. PangeaSeed are staying busy on their end producing content to keep students, parents, educators, and artists engaged and inspired while learning and creating from home.

With that in mind, they are excited to share with you that they just launched "HOME", a new stay-at-home mural project celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day (April 21-26), and the first mural project of its kind in the face of COVID-19.

The artist registration opened yesterday and they've already had over 200 artists from around the world sign up to paint stay-at-home murals while sheltering in place and following local social distancing guidelines.

PangeaSeed are really excited to see this pioneering project come to life and the works that develop from it. If interested, they'd love to have you participate as a supporting artist and help us share "HOME" with your artist communities. If possible, we're asking all registered artists to share the project and nominate at least five fellow artists to participate in HOME as well. The more creatives that participate and share, the louder and further we can send this important message to the world.

Below are links to access the "HOME" landing page, promo assets, and artist handbook.

The Who New York City 1967 Poster By Dan Mumford

No comments:

Collectionzz teamed up with Dan Mumford for its next poster in their Iconic by Collectionzz series, commemorating another legendary moment in music history.

The Who arrived in New York City in March of 1967 for a run of performances in the “Music in the Fifth Dimension" variety show, their first performances in the United States, at the Roaring 20’s era RKO Radio Theatre. After the obligatory dance contest ended, Pete Townsend’s telecaster ripped into the solo guitar intro for ‘Substitute’ from behind the curtain, and The Who appeared. Their brief show ended with the band destroying their equipment as smoked billowed from the speakers filling the small theatre. Read more about the show here (https://reserve.collectionzz.com/blogs/news/behind-the-poster-the-who-new-york-city-march-28-1978)!

There are two editions of the poster that will be available, the 9-color Main Edition of 130 ($75) and Pearlescent Variant Edition of 45 ($150) on metallic flake paper; plus as always, there's two Chase Variants (a Oil Swirl Foil 1/1 & Rainbow Foil x/2) that will be randomly added to three lucky purchasers’ tubes! Framing is also available at checkout for an extra $100.

On Sale Wednesday, April 15th at 12:00pm EDT on Collectionzz.com

The Cuttlefish is a 6 layer screen print on a very cool paper stock called Stardream Opal Metallic. David has always loved Cuttlefish and their intelligent eyes. They can hypnotize their prey with bio-luminescence.

Dave Kloc The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail Posters

No comments:

Before Dave Kloc made any posters for bands he spent six years making a poster-a-week for the comedy show The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail. That show ran from 2010 to 2016, in the back of Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles. Dave was extremely lucky to be there when the show began and get the opportunity to do posters that featured some of the best comedians out there. Now, looking back at the posters, some of these names have their own Netflix specials, TV shows, are on SNL, in Marvel movies - Dave felt it was a good time to make the posters available rather than gather dust in his garage!

There are only a few of each of these posters, in some cases only one or two. Here's a little list of some of the comedians that you'll find on these show posters: John Mulaney, Maria Bamford, Pete Holmes, Tom Segura, Daniel Sloss, Bobcat Goldthwait, Kyle Kinane, Sarah Silverman, Anthony Jeselnik, Eric Andre, Eugene Mirman, Jim Gaffian and holy hell - so many more.

Justin Hampton Mark Lanegan The Days of Pandemia Prints and Posters

No comments:

Details from Justin Hampton and Mark Lanegan on their new collaboration.

As a reflection of this moment we’re all living in, Mark and I present to you these newly realized editions of my artwork originally designed for the Mark Lanegan Band 2012 Blues Funeral tour. ‘The Days of Pandemia'...

This is a surreal time in our collective history and a very unnerving moment in all of our lives. The image is a representation of something that seemed like it could never happen to us, something that modern scientific advances had left in the dusty pages of the historical record. Although that was a different condition in a different time, the image of the Plague Doctor has resonated with a lot of people in these unsure times. How do we stay safe? How do we deal with this? Should we be scared? Will this pass? Will science ultimately defeat this? There is so much uncertainty right now, including so many people losing their ways of life. Most people are sheltering at home with ‘social distancing’.

Along with so many people Mark and I have lost our way to make an income, with his touring, and myself making poster art for bands concerts. What was to be Mark’s upcoming European tour was cancelled. All of my already produced posters for what was to be upcoming gigs have also been cancelled. We’re thinking outside of the box here in offering this print without a concert to go with it. I’ve always wanted to make an art print of this image and flesh it out more with added detail and colors. Although the image is a dark tone I think of it as an acknowledgement of what’s happening with a sense of hope in the sunset and faith that after the darkness there will be another day. Humanity will survive, we’ll be better prepared and hopefully come out of this kinder and more appreciative of the amazing world that we all share.

The regular cream edition is 20x26 inch limited timed edition serigraph is signed by both Mark Lanegan & Justin Hampton. The edition size will be dependent on the quantity sold between April 10th - 20th. Printed on heavy French Cream stock, hand numbered, and embossed. Each purchase of this edition will include a certificate of authenticity and frameable lyric sheet of 'The Gravedigger's Song by: Mark Lanegan.
Red Edition is limited to 30 with everything else being the same.
White Edition is limited to 60 with everything else being the same.
Black Edition is limited to 30 with everything else being the same.

There will also be mini prints of these as well measuring 8 x 10 inches.

David Welker The Mining Colony Art Print Release

No comments:

This Friday David Welker will release his first painting of the year as a print edition. The title is "The Mining Colony". The piece developed slowly from abstraction into a fairly distinct pictorial landscape over the course of about five weeks.

Details and a message from DW:
I like when artwork transports me and I enjoy imagining what sort of minerals or gems the people who built this outpost are searching for, what their mining methods are and how far they are from any other civilization.

The piece itself is the first of a series of painting commissions that I'm taking on as a new direction for my career. I'll have more information very soon about how to register for a commission slot.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this edition. I realize these are trying times, but I must keep working for essential reasons. I am, as always, deeply grateful for your support.

Thank you and stay strong and safe.

The Mining Colony
Archival pigment on cotton rag paper with hand deckled edges 27 x 20 inches
Signed, embossed and hand-numbered edition of 125
$225
