"It is always a pleasure working with PangeaSeed Foundation and supporting their cause to help save our oceans through ARTivism. Their underwater “flight” which can only be described as entrancing and surreal. So as a follow up to my previous edition with PangeaSeed, “Rising Hammerheads", again I wanted to depict both humans and in this case manta rays, swimming in synchronicity, ascending to a brighter future."

Jeff Soto Skull of Life Art Print Release

No comments:

Jeff Soto has an amazing piece of work releasing Wednesday. This marks a more personal direction in his creative process.

Here is Jeff in his own words discussing his new approach:
I’m on a quest to create more personal art prints so I made a decision last year to take on less gig poster assignments. I have always loved the art and process of screenprinting- the layers, the colors, the linework and the shapes! These fine art prints will not have “Metallica” or “Primus” or “Pearl Jam” on them but I am creating them with the same artistic spirit and care. These prints are for my fans, and I’m hoping some of friends I have met along the way making gig posters will like them too!

This is “Skull of Life”. It celebrates Spring’s colorful flower blooms, bugs, bees, butterflies and the wild growth of Nature. It is inspired visually by my own plant collection of cacti and succulents.
There will be two editions.

“Skull of Life”, 18” x 24”, 7 color screenprint on Madero Beach 100lb paper. The print is signed, embossed and numbered in an edition of 100. Printed by Industry in Austin, TX.

“Skull of Life” celebrates Spring’s colorful flower blooms, bugs, bees, butterflies and the wild growth of Nature. It is inspired visually by Soto’s love of plants.

“Skull of Life”, 20” x 28”, hand embellished 7 color screenprint on 300gsm Industry Recycled Rag paper with deckled edge. This print is signed, embossed, titled and numbered in a small edition of only 10 prints. Printed by Industry in Austin, TX.

This is a very special edition of “Skull of Life”. Each print is hand embellished by Soto and completely unique! These are printed on an amazing paper called Industry Recycled Rag. Created by famed papermaker Yama Ploskonka of Papel Texano, this 300gsm handmade paper was created for Industry Print Shop’s 10 year anniversary. Ploskonka took 500 sheets of screen printed test prints and created a beautiful recycled cotton rag paper. No two sheets are alike- each contains small remnants of past screenprints, each shred, rich with its own history! Every sheet is watermarked with Industry Editions & Papel Texano marks (pic before hand embellishment and signing).

On sale Wednesday at Noon PDT at www.stormcloudz.com

David V. D'Andrea OM West Coast Tour Poster

No comments:

David V. D'Andrea is happy to announce that the latest OM poster is now available. This print marks a new chapter in the band's evolution. The band has a new member, Tyler Trotter (Grails/Watter), and is preparing for more shows in the coming months.

The poster's narrative approach and no-frills layout was an intentional departure for David. The mood is quite dark and shadowy with a subtle overprint emulating the tomb's rays.

205 of the 300 show edition were sold on tour. There are 95 for sale from David.
The Artist Edition is on a French "Charcoal" paper which makes for a darker vibe and 100 are available.

Crosshair Ides #3 Art Print Release

No comments:

The Ides of March is nearly upon us. What better occasion for the release of Crosshair's first major art print of 2019: Ides #3.

Since Crosshair first put it to paper on a poster for the band Codeine in 2012, Chicago's iconic Eight Track Bridge has been the thread that demanded to be pulled. Ides #2 (still available!) released a couple of years later, presented the same subject in a different aspect. This long-brewing return shows our friend's full frozen majesty in a new light, rendered as a big 23x23" 16-color silkscreen print resplendent in depth and detail.

In addition to the planned run, Dan MacAdam printed a small experimental quantity on off-white paper. Though the inks are identical, the different color background drastically altered the appearance of these prints, deepening the sky's luminosity and emphasizing the lavender in the grays. So, these are available too as a special edition.

IDES #3 is a 16-color silkscreen print, measuring 23 x 23" and produced in a s/n limited edition of 70 on white and 20 on off-white paper.

John Vogl Red Tailed Hawk Art Print

No comments:

John Vogl has released and couple of new prints and has taken his professional career in a new direction yet the same.

From John:
At the start of the year, I decided to eschew "The Bungaloo" name in favor of working under my own name. If you're wanting a longer explanation, I posted about it on Instagram a little while back. In short, as my work and career continue to evolve, I feel it's more appropriate to work under my own name, and not a nonsense moniker I came up with when I was much younger that has lost all meaning to me.

All that said, you can still expect gig posters, screen prints, and some giclees from me going forward. I'll be offering less shirts and other retail goods in an effort to focus on new artwork instead. Speaking of which, I have a couple of new prints to share. The first is a Red Tailed Hawk, which I made in anticipation of heading down to Austin, TX later this week for the annual Flatstock Poster Show at SXSW (I hope to see some of you there!). The second in another portrait print I made for a recent opening at Helikon Gallery, titled "I Know You're Right But That Doesn't Mean I'm Going To Listen".

Red Tailed Hawk is 18x24 4 color Screen Print, signed and numbered edition of 60.

No comments:

Grey Matter Art is very pleased to announce a new officially licensed, limited edition screen-print for the Paul Verhoeven 80's classic action film, "Robocop" by artist, Juan Carlos Ruiz Burgos. GMA have been very impressed by Juan's work and they were so happy to hear he wanted to create a poster for such a beloved movie of theirs. Ravi Zupa The Queen Justice Print Release & First Marvelous Adventures Poster

No comments:

Ravi Zupa has released the first of five posters in a new monthly series called “Marvelous Adventures.” All characters for the series are pulled from Hindu mythology (Durga,Hanuman, Rama, Garuda, Kali) and feature some of the oldest superheroes on Earth.

The release marks a return to Zupa’s childhood drawings, many of which emulated the look and feel of comic books. “At some point, I abandoned that style when I discovered the magic of German renaissance printmaking, which behaves similarly but is more ordered and technical,” Zupa says of the design.

Inspired by Marvel and DC comics from the 1960s and ‘70s, the throwback nature of the series has been an enjoyable trip down memory lane for the artist. “Drawing in this way was surprisingly comfortable and fun for me, like returning to the places in my
childhood neighborhood where I used to play and explore.”

Zupa’s decision to launch the series with a print featuring a strong female archetype was intentional. “The last several years have been marked by Durga’s persistent efforts and I imagine she will continue. To a large degree, she is the same archetype as Wonder Woman.”

The series of five prints (each with five colors, 24” x 36”) will be released as limited editions of 40 each over the next five months. To order your own, visit Zupa’s online store HERE.
