BASK Amazing Accounts Print & Original Painting Release Details

No comments:

1xRUN welcome back regular BASK as he joins them for his latest RUN featuring limited edition prints + original artwork. Since their inception BASK has been a fixture at 1xRUN and never one to remain still Bask has brought his fans yet another piece that is still wet with paint finished just last week.

This painting titled Amazing Accounts is part of Bask's upcoming show he is doing with Derek Hess at Howl Gallery in Ft. Myers, Florida. The opening is October 3rd.

"In the past month, I've been really into doing figurative portrait style works in a halftone style. I find painting all those dots is like meditation for me. Not to mention, I really love the look of an image painted on halftones. I've been plotting this piece in my head for over a year now and finally the moment was right to bring it to life. The painting with framing took a couple of days to complete. I've rarely painted images in halftones and now a lot of my current work had some halftone element in it. The other unique event to this piece is the dramatic texture of the panel it's painted on. It has old staples in it on top of the thick layered drippy base." - BASK

Winner of the Justin Santora Poster

No comments:

So did all the Breaking Bad fans enjoy the ending last night ? I know this is about the poster winner but had to comment about the ending. It was good not amazing but a good finale episode that tied everything together but still left some things up to us the viewer. Between Breaking Bad and The Sopranos I doubt anything will match them since they set the bar so high for drama, writing and directing. I also hope Breaking Bad does not become the next subject for an endless amount of pop culture "art" like Star Wars, The Beatles and others

On with the winner of the Justin Santora Lumineers poster. The winner is Dave Wilson with comment #2. Dave email me your address and I will ship the poster out to you. My email is to the right at the top.

Thanks again to Justin Santora for the poster and to everyone that entered. He still has them for sale on his site so just because you did not win doesn't mean you can't get one.

Todd Slater MGMT & Tegan and Sara Posters On Sale

No comments:

Todd Slater just dropped a couple of stunning new posters for MGMT and Tegan & Sara.

MGMT Poster Details from Todd:

I can't imagine a more scrutinized record to be released this year than MGMT's third. The show was 10 days before the album was released and I decided to comment on it's reception. I had this sort of mystical image in my head of an owl offering the moon to a wolf. The moon is a representation of MGMT's latest offering (record) and the wolf is it's reception (audience). The background shows spears pointing towards the moon along with a repeating pattern of descending wolves.

Sparkle variant numbered to 5 copies randomly inserted into orders!

NOTES: 24 x 18 inches /// 4 screens (1 metallic for background layer) /// signed and numbered edition of 200 (101-200 sold at show) /// radiant iridescent variant to 24 /// September 7, 2013 at Crossroads KC in Kansas City, Missouri

Tegan and Sara Details :

This was one I wanted to make and I approached T+S about the project. The idea is that the band has grown over the years and have now spread their wings and turned their sound into something new. The bird's tail morphs from feather to braid and finally into a subtle version of T&S's profiles on the left and right of the page. The braid itself is a reference to childhood, innocence and the idea that the two have grown up together. Visually, I liked the feeling of duality in the image and also the look of the intertwined braid. The roots/lightning in the background serve as stylized texture that also represent growth.

The print is also dedicated to my friend Craig who really turned me on to the band's sound years ago.

Sparkle variant numbered to 6 copies randomly inserted into orders!

NOTES: 24 x 18 inches /// 4 screens (1 metallic) /// signed and numbered edition of 125 (5-70 sold at show) /// radiant iridescent variant to 20 /// September 13, 2013 at my favorite venue in the world: Stubbs in Austin, TX

Avett Brothers Jermaine Rogers Cleveland Poster & Godfather II Release Details

No comments:

AVETT BROTHERS (Cleveland) -

This 24x18 piece is screen printed on white cream gallery stock, from a signed and numbered edition of 175 pieces. The majority of these were made available at the actual show in Cleveland, OH. Now, we have a limited number available via JermaineRogers.com. - 40.00 plus shipping/ handling

About the imagery, Jermaine says:

'I wanted to touch on the dark themes that seem to run undercurrent in much of the Avett Brothers' music. Everyone hears the beauty, but the darkness and unsteadiness and doubt are there. I wanted to touch on that and attempt to illustrate it and lay it bare, at least my personal interpretation. The lyric I included in the image are from the song, 'Head Full Of Doubt/ Road Full Of Promise'. The words are indicative of a darker reality that seems to run undercurrent in much of the bands music. It's my favorite lyric of theirs.'

- AVETT BROTHERS (Cleveland) FOIL EDITION -

This 24x18 piece is screen printed on holographic laser ray foil stock, from a signed and numbered edition of only 30 pieces. - 80.00 plus shipping/ handling

- THE GODFATHER (FOIL EDITION) -

This print was commissioned for the recent limited screening of GODFATHER II at the historic Castro Theater in San Francisco, in association with Spoke Art.

Jermaine mentions:

This film has always been one of my favorites. The imagery denotes what I think the film is really touching on with themes of intention and expectation, and how so often these things can spiral out of control. As for the look of the thing, some of my biggest heroes are Polish film poster artists and that style from the 60's-80's, so everything here is real D.I.Y.: everything hand-done and very raw and tactile. The film is that kind of experience, in itself.'

The regular edition of this piece sold out at the theatre during the screening of the film and on the official Spoke Art website. The FOIL EDITION is available exclusively from JermaineRogers.com. Measuring 29x23 inches, this screen print is on silver matte FOIL stock, in a very limited edition of only 30 signed and numbered pieces. - 80.00 plus shipping/handling

NOTE: All of the above prints will be made available for purchase on:

Defer Spiritual Migration Print Release

No comments:

Returning to 1xRUN iconic Los Angeles graffiti artist, DEFER presents his latest RUN Spiritual Migration.

"This particular piece is a combination of elements that I use in my works - lettering, abstract, motion, layers. I also revisited my use of elements of the animal world - birds migrating. I created this original piece about a month ago using acrylic on canvas. This the first time Ive painted a group of birds in migration.

The idea for this piece came about when I was thinking about how birds migrate and how it correlates to the human spirit. I though about how different life experiences can bring about spiritual change or a spiritual migration to or from a certain place." - Defer

Spiritual Migration is a 18 x 24 Inches Archival Pigment Print on 300gsm Fine Art Paper with a signed and numbered edition of 50

Along with this print they will have 3 of his paintings for sale as well today at NOON EDT at 1xRUN.com

Charles Crisler Jake Bugg Chicago Poster On Sale

No comments:

Charles Crisler just did a good looking poster for a show at the legendary Chicago venue The Metro for Jake Bugg. As I told Charles I have no idea who Jake is, but I do like the poster. It is 3-color screen print (including metallic gold) on Natural 100C paper measuring 18 x 24 in with a signed and numbered edition of 125

Here is a word from Charles about the poster:
Doing my homework, I found among Bugg’s stable of guitars a 1955 Gretsch G6121 Chet Atkins. Being a sucker for Bigsby guitars, and especially the Gretsch variants, I knew instantly I had my concept. I chose a low angle and extreme perspective for interest, while mixing in Metro Chicago cues based on vintage Gretsch branding. The final touch while printing was adding metallic gold

Kevin Tong The World's End Poster Release Artist Edition

No comments:

Regular

Variant
Kevin Tong will be selling his The World's End Posters today. Kevin is a huge fan of all Edgar Wrights films and it seems Edgar is a fan of Kevin's work as well. He asked for Kevin to specifically to do a “The World’s End” poster.

This time, Kevin got the rare chance to see the film before he did the poster, so he got a sense of the non stop motion and alien killing, both of which he hoped to instill in this poster.

The regular color version is a 7 color (printed among six screens via a split fountain) screen print on 24 x 36 inch 100 lb white cover paper in an edition of 290. Signed and numbered artists’ copies for $60 each at a random time on 9/25/13 HERE

The variant color version is a 7 color (printed among six screens via split fountain) screen print on 24 x 36 inch 100 lb white cover paper in an edition of 115. Signed and numbered artists’ copies for $70 each at a random time on 9/25/13 HERE
