Bowie 75 Serious Moonlight Tour Print by John Vogl

No comments:

Throughout 2022 Iconic by Collectionzz be celebrating Bowie 75 with official prints documenting the changes and various personae of the iconic David Bowie!

One of the iconic Bowie "eras" is undoubtedly 1983's Let's Dance album and 'Serious Moonlight' tour, which took Bowie's fame to even greater heights. In 1995, Bowie said of Let's Dance "I had my first overground success. I was suddenly no longer ‘the world’s biggest cult artist’ in popular music.”

The 'Serious Moonlight' tour print illustrated by John Vogl features Bowie in his classic peach and blue suit, and is printed on a shimmering "more dots" rainbow foil (they've used this in the past and is one of the most impressive foil papers they've seen)! This beautiful art is an edition of 175.

John Vogl 93 Dogs Art Print & More

No comments:

John Vogl has some new things to share! First off is his new art print, "93 Dogs" which is a silly labor of love that began as a distraction from come client projects and turned into one of the more elaborate and satisfying posters he's ever made, according John. He also plucked a few dogs from the artwork to make several new vinyl stickers and magnets as well.

Lastly, John made an art print out of the artwork he made for his recent My Morning Jacket poster, "Sure, But That's Not What You Said".

New Posters & Print From John Vogl

No comments:

After moving to Minneapolis from Denver, John Vogl has his web store back up and running after a brief break with three new screen prints.

The first is a gigposter for Maggie Rogers' Austin City Limits taping this past Friday. According to John "It was a blast to work on and I'm very happy with the results."

The second is another gigposter for The String Cheese Incident for their Memorial Day Weekend shows in Port Chester, NY. The Capitol Theatre has a very art deco interior and the band requested something in that vein to honor this special set of shows.

Lastly, he has a new Wolves art print. John on the print "Ultimately, I ended up having these reprinted after their first run to get the colors closer to what I had envisioned, but that unfortunately pushed back their release quite a bit. I apologize for the delay to those who had seen the piece online and were confused as to why it wasn't available until now."

All three of these prints will be available in his web store around 10AM CST on Monday morning at http://johnvogl.com/

John Vogl Red Tailed Hawk Art Print

No comments:

John Vogl has released and couple of new prints and has taken his professional career in a new direction yet the same.

From John:
At the start of the year, I decided to eschew "The Bungaloo" name in favor of working under my own name. If you're wanting a longer explanation, I posted about it on Instagram a little while back. In short, as my work and career continue to evolve, I feel it's more appropriate to work under my own name, and not a nonsense moniker I came up with when I was much younger that has lost all meaning to me.

All that said, you can still expect gig posters, screen prints, and some giclees from me going forward. I'll be offering less shirts and other retail goods in an effort to focus on new artwork instead. Speaking of which, I have a couple of new prints to share. The first is a Red Tailed Hawk, which I made in anticipation of heading down to Austin, TX later this week for the annual Flatstock Poster Show at SXSW (I hope to see some of you there!). The second in another portrait print I made for a recent opening at Helikon Gallery, titled "I Know You're Right But That Doesn't Mean I'm Going To Listen".

Red Tailed Hawk is 18x24 4 color Screen Print, signed and numbered edition of 60.

Winner of the Super Bowl Free Friday Giveaway

No comments:

Peyton you just won your second Super Bowl and the first person you greet is the creepy pizza dude ?

This is Thomas Davis of the Panthers arm, he broke it two weeks ago. They operated and put screws in it so he could play. Much respect to him for is desire to play and help his teammates.

So did everyone enjoy Super Bowl 50 ? I was happy to see Peyton Manning win another Super Bowl and win his 200th career game between regular season and post season in what was likely his last football game. He also earned a nice $2 million bonus as well. As they say in sports defense wins championships and the Denver Broncos proved that again last night. I don't remember the last time no touchdowns were thrown in a Super Bowl and had to look it up. Only 3 other times were no touchdowns thrown New York Jets vs. Baltimore Colts Super Bowl III, Miami vs. Minnesota Super Bowl VIII and Dallas vs. Buffalo Super Bowl XXVIII. With last nights performance Denver now has the record with appearing in 4 Super Bowls without a touchdown being thrown.

I am not a Lady Gaga fan, but hearing her sing the National Anthem before the game was the best I think I have ever heard anyone sing it. Literally chills up my back it was so good and heart felt. The halftime show was the complete opposite, underwhelming and just not very good musically.

The commercials were alright, but nothing really sticks out except for maybe the one Christopher Walken was in but only because I'm a fan of his.

So who won the mystery tube ? Lots of people picked the Carolina Panthers but one person got the winner and the total score right. For awhile there I was worried they would even score enough points for anyone to win. But the Broncos made a winner out of Chris Bell with comment #16 who guessed the Broncos and total score of 34. So with that Chris has won a mystery tube of posters and stuff from John Vogl. Chris email me your addrss and I will let John know were to send your tube. My email is to the right towards the top. >

Thank you to everyone that entered. Of course none of this would have been possible without the generous contributions of John Vogl and James Flames, click the names for links to their websites and go check out all their work.

Eli Manning's reaction to Peyton winning was ehh let's just say odd.

James Flames & John Vogl Super Bowl Free Friday Poster Giveaway

79 comments:

It's on football fans, Super Bowl 50 is this weekend as the Denver Broncos will be playing the Carolina Panthers this Sunday. Peyton Manning is more than likely playing in his last game as he leads the Broncos. Peyton has had a long record filled career and seems only fitting that he plays the future of the NFL in Panthers QB Cam Newton. I really hope the Broncos win.

For this Free Friday Poster Giveaway the prize will be determined by which team wins. Even though he is from New York and a Giants fan James Flames now lives in North Carolina and he will be representing the Carolina Panthers. John Vogl a Denver resident will be representing the Denver Broncos.

Now in order for one of you to win, you have to guess which team will win the Super Bowl. James and John have both contributed a Mystery Tube of 3 or so posters, stickers and pins. So if the Panthers win and you guessed them and won the tie breakers you will win a Mystery Tube from James Flames. Like wise if the Broncos win you will get a tube from John Vogl.

In order to win you have to guess who will win the Super Bowl, first tie breaker is total points scored by both teams guess the closest without going over (Price Is Right Rule). Second tie breaker is which quarterback will score the most touchdowns. Third tiebreaker just in case quarterback with the most passing yards.

Now go to the top of the post above the picture and click on comments or scroll down (depends on how you see this post) to leave a comment with the following:

Winning Super Bowl Team
Total points scored by both teams
Quarterback with the most touchdowns
Quarterback with the most passing yards

Don't worry if your comment does not appear immediately I have to approve them before they are published. Entries are limited to ONE PER PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD. Please leave your name with the comment, comments without names will not be accepted. Comments without all the needed information will also be deleted. Entries will be accepted until 6pm EST Sunday February 7, kickoff is at around 6:30 so this gives you time to get comfortable to watch the game. The winner will be posted Monday here on the blog.

Huge THANK YOU to John Vogl (click John's name to see his new website and store) and James Flames ( Click James' name to see his work) for participating in my idea and for providing the posters for the giveaway.
