Zeb Love Willie Nelson Austin 1972 Poster Release

No comments:

Iconic by Collectionzz has just released this beautiful poster by Zeb Love commemorating Willie Nelson’s legendary show at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, Texas on August 12, 1972. This concert was the "big bang" of modern Austin music, and the show that put the “progressive country” movement on the map.

The art symbolically represents the "journey" in Willie's career from Nashville to Austin, which was a significant moment in not only country music, but pop music history. Because of Willie’s well publicized love of horses and animals in general, the artist decided to make Willie's journey on horseback, with the city of Austin in the distance.

As with all posters by Iconic by Collectionzz, all orders have the chance to land extremely rare variants that are not (and never will be) for sale. For Willie Nelson, there's a Jazzy Foil Variant (Edition of 1), and a Light Pillar Foil Variant (Edition of 2) randomly placed in tubes!

• Officially Licensed by Willie Nelson
• Size: 18" x 24"
• Artist: Zeb Love
• Edition Sizes: Day Edition - 100/ Dusk Edition - 35
• Paper: French White 100lb Cover
• Six Color Screen print
• Markings: Signed and Numbered out of 100 and 35 respectfully.

Greg Ruth SXSW Comedy Poster 2020 Release

No comments:

Like everything else the SXSW Comedy Festival 2020 was cancelled and Greg Ruth created an amazing poster for the shows. The blue edition is the regular and the brown was given to performers.

Here's Greg's statement:
"What on earth does this weirdo image have to do with comedy, SXSW, and Texas? (If anything?)
When we the artists, get the lucky tap to do one of these posters for a favorite show, we are even more blessed with a free hand to basically come up with anything -- as long as it makes a striking image and includes the jester frog somewhere within. It’s a rare gift to be given that freedom, and I confess I took that long rope and ran wild with it, happily. Frankly though, I always liked the idea of comedy being a function of pain fueled by surprise. There’s a pathos behind what makes something funny, and a shared empathy that enjoins us all to laugh together. I guess an upside down, bisected horse, dipped in paint is how I put that idea into a picture. The frog is their fault, the horse we can blame on Texas, and the rest you can blame on me."- Greg Ruth

Here's the list of names that appears on the poster around the boarder:
Aaron Jackson • Ahmed Bharoocha • Alex English • Alyssa Stonoha • Andy Haynes • Anthony Devito • Ayo Edebiri • Besty Sodaro • Bill Burr • Bob Odenkirk • Brett Davis • Byron Bowers • Dave Hill • David Gborie • Doug Benson • Eddie Pepitone • Eugene Cordero • Frank Oz • Gil Ozeri • Greg Stone • Hannibal Buress • Horatio Sanz • James Adomian • Joel Kim Booster • Jon Daly • Judd Apatow • Kiry Shabazz • Leonard Maltin • Liza Treyger • Lorelei Ramirez • Maggie Maye • Mary Holland • Matt Besser • Matt Kirshen • Megan Stalter • Mike Feeney • Mitra Jouhari • Monroe Martin • Nick Thune • Patti Harrison • Pete Davidson • Rachel Pegram • Ricky Velez • Roast Battle • Robert Kelly • Rosebud Baker • Sabrina Jalees • Samantha Bee • Sandy Honig • Shane Gillis • Stuart Goldsmith • Thomas Middleditch • Yamaneika Saunders
SXSW will only be selling the regular edition.

Those go on sale April 1 at 12:00 CDT at https://merch.sxsw.com/

David D'Andrea Seer Art Print Release

No comments:

The SEER is a personal deity David  D'Andrea created some years back. It is a meditation on the question of earthly identity and persona, the seer and the seen.

 Some back ground from David
When this version of the SEER emerged it immediately felt like a protective spirit, a tribute to past and present experience and the need to sever oneself in order to see things as they are, to face the present with fierce determination.

We are entities swathed in swirling decoration, experiential baggage, and emotional scars. When we can step away from this earthly body and see through the mask who is having the experience? When seemingly insurmountable obstacles present themselves how can we witness and proceed?

I channel the question through visual art. It’s a vital function and blessing I’ve cherished for my entire life. When the spirit feels untethered...turn within and create.
The print is a 24 x 36" - 5 color screen print.

He printed 4 different versions.
Blackline and four colors are all the same. The gold and silver metallics are swapped out as well as paper type.

Each version is numbered separately and signed.

A. Gold metallic on "Madero Beach" paper. Ed of 40.
B. Silver metallic on "Kraftone Off-White" paper. Ed of 30
C. Gold metallic on "Kraftone Manila" paper. Ed of 10
D. Silver Metallic on "Berrylicious Blue" paper. Ed of 10

Daniel Danger Grateful Dead Poster Release

No comments:

This Friday Bottleneck Gallery's Grateful Dead Artist Series continues with the devastatingly brilliant Daniel Danger and for me my favorite of the series so far!

This project with Daniel marks his Bottleneck debut, so they'd like to take a moment to gush about his art, which they've admired and collected for years. Daniel's painstakingly detailed body of work contains moody masterpieces, featuring dilapidated architecture and the ghosts that haunt these hallowed places. Whether a gig poster, alternative movie print, or personal work, Daniel's art finds the balance between the ethereal and the grungy physical worlds, between nature and structure, and they're ecstatic for the opportunity to work with him.

Daniel's Grateful dead piece, despite potentially somber from afar, portrays the Grateful Dead's indelible mark on history and our current, hopeful remembrances of good times past.

Please check www.thereisafountain.com for an in-depth look showing how Daniel created the piece, along with stunning hi-def photos of all editions of the print. Seriously take the time to check it out.

Let it be known there is a fountain (Grateful Dead) - Stella Edition
9 color screen print 36 x 24 inches
Hand-numbered edition of 300
$60

Terrapin Edition
9 color screen print 36 x 24 inches
Hand-numbered edition of 150

Fire on the Mountain Edition
13 color screen print 36 x 24 inches
Hand-numbered edition of 125
$85

Scarlet Begonias Edition
13 color screen print 36 x 24 inches

Darin Shock Macho vs. Animal Art Print

No comments:

Darin Shock just released a new print that's a celebration of growing up in the 1980's. It's an 18x24", 6 color screen print entitled Macho vs. Animal. There's a regular edition as well as a few on rainbow foil.

Darin on the concept
This is a concept I've had in the sketchbook for years. I absolutely adore my childhood and always wanted to pay tribute to it. It was a time of innocence, development, and creativity. I've held onto several toys from my childhood but none of them meant more to me than the classic LJN WWF figures and ring. I played with my wrestlers constantly and to this day, refer to the 1986 Christmas (when I received my wrestlers and ring) as one of the best Christmases of all time. This isn't just about the wrestlers though. Other toys were just as impactful, such as He-Man, GI Joe, Transformers, NES, etc. I imagine every generation has their own fondness to the toys of their time but I can only speak to mine...and we were blessed with amazing toylines. This, on one level, is a celebration of those toys, but more importantly it's about the joy of being a kid in the 80's.

David Welker The Great Divide Art Print Release

No comments:

As David Welker turns the corner out of another Winter in the Northeast he has found himself drawing to balance the intensity of the slower process of painting again. One of the pieces that came out during this graphite flurry was a solitary figure standing over a frozen river. The drawing itself is a jumble of scratchy, gestural marks that almost appears abstract from certain angles. It's a symbolic moment of contemplation and crossroads in the wilderness. The land between the great continental watersheds where an explorer of a time long ago would come upon a river that flowed to a different ocean than the one he came from.

Archival pigment on cotton rag paper with hand deckled edges
Size 14 x 12.7 inches
Signed, embossed and hand-numbered edition of 125

The piece is titled "The Great Divide" and it will be available on Wednesday, March 18th @ 1PM ET on his web-store https://welker-studios.myshopify.com/.

Matt Leunig Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Cleveland & Grand Rapids Poster

No comments:

Matt Leunig recently completed a print for the band Pigeons Playing Ping Pong‘s recent Tour stops in Cleveland & Grand Rapids. When conceptualizing he wanted to do something explosive and trippy and locked in on an idea he calls “Hubba Bubba”. Matt kept thinking Bazooka-Joe style colors while featuring a pretty tripped out dude who’s head is filled w/ some nervous birds.

Matt only has 25 artist edition for sale and bunch of foil variants.

Scott Listfield Humpback Art Print Release

No comments:

PangeaSeed Foundation is pleased to announce the latest print release in our 2020 print project, "In Peril: A Visual Story of Our Ocean's Greatest Challenges". Featuring original artwork by supporting ARTivist Scott Listfield (USA). This limited art print edition highlights the devastating impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems and desertification.

Artist: Scott Listfield (USA)
Title: "Humpback"
Dimensions: 16x24 inches with the half-inch border
Edition size: Limited edition of 50 plus 5 APs signed/numbered by the artist
Pricing: $80 plus shipping

Available: Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 12pm PST via shop.pangeaseed.org

Artist Statement:
"I made this painting last summer as part of a series of paintings for my first show in Australia, at Beinart Gallery in Melbourne. At the time I was thinking a lot about the fragile ecosystem of the Australian continent. It's a very dry country made up of a huge desert, surrounded by a ring of habitable land, which seems precarious giving rising global temperatures and increased desertification. Australia is also home to the Great Barrier Reef, one of the world's great natural wonders, which is in a perilous state. And, of course, Australia is where Mad Max comes from. Which might include some truly badass car chase scenes, but is also, at its heart, is a parable about our love for gas and automobiles trumping our love for nature and humanity. Well, at least as I see it.

And so I was thinking about all of these things as I worked on a series of paintings all set in a dusty desert plain, with remnants of our civilization mixed in with the last stragglers of a once vibrant ecology. The recent brush fires in Australia happened a few months after I finished this series of paintings, and made them seem oddly prescient. I make paintings about the future - the future we think we're going to have, to future we're trying to avoid, and the future perhaps we'd most like to see. I think we're living in a moment where the future is still very open, but we're increasingly inching towards the point where it will be dictated for us. What I really hope I'm doing in my work is pointing out how beautiful this future could be, but also how sad and empty it might turn out if we don't take some responsibility for it soon." - Scott Listfield

Grey Matter Art Wildlife Victoria Charity Poster Release

No comments:

Now that all fires burning in the Australian state of New South Wales have been declared contained for the first time this season, the time to start rebuilding and helping really starts. According to The Associated Press, it is recorded that the fires took at least 33 lives and destroyed more than 3,000 homes and burned more than 26 million acres.

It is estimated that more than 1 billion mammals, birds, and reptiles likely lost their lives in the blazes. Around 25,000 Koalas were feared dead on Kangaroo Island and approximately 8,000, a third of all the population in New South Wales, are believed to have perished. A wildlife ecologist at Deakin University said some ecosystems would be able to recover in a few years, others would take decades, and some more than a century.

When Grey Matter Art heard of all the devastation and loss to this beautiful country, they wanted to do whatever they could to help. So, GMA reached out and enlisted the help of their Australian artist and friend, Florey. GMA wanted to take something they knew fans and collectors of his have enjoyed and decided to put a little twist on it for this special release. For the first time ever, they are re-releasing Florey's beloved and long sold-out Guardians of the Galaxy poster as a beautiful Gold Foil Variant with a portion of the proceeds going to Wildlife Victoria! GMA are so excited that they can create a fun poster and at the same time use it to help a really great cause.

Guardians of the Galaxy Foil Variant by Florey Goes On Sale Tuesday, March 10th at 1 PM EDT through Friday March 13 11:59 PM EST at https://greymatterart.com/

Guardians of the Galaxy Gold Foil Variant by Florey
Hand Numbered Timed Edition

Edition size will be determined by the number of prints sold through

Victorian Bushfire Appeal
We are aware of dozens of wildlife shelters and carers around the state that have been affected by the Victorian bushfires and extreme heat events.

Donations to our Victorian bushfire appeal will be distributed to wildlife shelters and carers to help rebuild enclosures and equipment that they have lost in the fires so that they can continue their lifesaving work, and support those that are struggling to cope with the enormous number of animals that will need care in the coming weeks and months.

Guy Burwell 311 & Tedeschi Trucks Band Posters

No comments:

Guy Burwell has a couple of new posters.

Tedeschi Trucks Band poster from the Richmond concert comes in a regular print edition only. The matte treatment of the inks has a very retro vintage finish and looks very nice. It's something Guy is going to pursue in some coming prints.

311 Protland comes in a regular print edition as is common and also a FOIL print edition on Crackle Foil. It's nice. The prints are very attractive, he thinks. The Foil prints have a wonderful gloss to them and the regular prints are matte treated for a swell vintage look to the finish that goes along well with the sketchy nature of the line arts. Both of these prints are a bit experimental for Guy in some ways that we don't need to go into. The experiment is a success and Guy will move forward with further testing.

Chris Austin She Always Hated That Car Art Print Release

No comments:

PangeaSeed Foundation is pleased to announce the latest print release in their 2020 print project, "In Peril: A Visual Story of Our Ocean's Greatest Challenges". Featuring original artwork by supporting ARTivist Chris Austin (Canada). This limited art print edition highlights the importance of apex predators in the marine environment such as the Great White Shark.

Artist: Chris Austin (Canada)
Title: "She Always Hated That Car"
Dimensions: 14x16 inches

Edition size: edition of 50 plus 10 hand-embellished prints - all signed and numbered by the artist
Pricing: $75 for the regular edition and $125 for hand-embellished edition

Release date: Wednesday, March 4 at 12pm PST via shop.pangeaseed.org

Artist Statement:
"Fear of the great white shark by humans has probably been around since the first-time ancient man encountered one. Despite their fearsome reputation and celebrity status, very little is known about this awesome apex predator.

Sharks, in particular great whites, have always been one of the most fearful species on the planet despite the fact that less than 10 people die per year due to shark incidents. Simply put, we are not on their menu. I'd like to help change that misguided perspective through my artwork. Apex predators are essential to the balance of any healthy food chain and the same goes for our oceans. Healthy oceans need healthy shark populations." - Chris Austin
