Pearl Jam TrustoCorp Los Angeles Poster Night 2 & Shirt and Sticker World Premiere Exclusive

No comments:

Another new artist or I should say artists have been added to the Pearl Jam poster roster. The group is in Los Angeles for another show tonight at the LA Sports Arena and the poster is done by TrustoCorp.

Some of you may be asking who is that ? Their work has been in galleries from Los Angeles to London. Their work has been on the streets from Los Angeles to London. What they are known for best is their biting social commentary through satire by installing street signs and other items that actually make people think again or at least that is the hope. By mocking the very people and corporations that want to control you they are on the streets fighting for you every night.

One of the funniest things they did was create a drive through liposuction clinic at an existing gas station. Read about it HERE. The installation was filmed and part of it was used in the video they made with Everlast for his song I Get By which can be seen below. Check out the ABC News video below as well.

This is the first time TrustoCorp has ever done a poster for a band and as a fan of their work I am stoked to see this and have the honor of premiering it for you all to see. This big eagle is 18 x 24 inches and it is a 7 color silk screen

Now on Monday TrustoCorp will be selling their artist edition posters so you will have a chance to get your hands a super piece of rare art by them. Artist edition will be a signed and numbered edition of 100

It will go on sale at NOON PST Monday November 25 at http://www.trustopopup.com/

Check out more TrustoCorp work on their Flickr page HERE

New Print by Trustocorp "Road to Nowhere" Release Details

No comments:

Trustocorp | Road to Nowhere
Fine art Giclée print with silk screen gloss on Somerset Enhanced Satin 330gsm paper
Edition of 60 signed and numbered by the artist
50cm x 100cm
£125

The revolution has always suffered from poor marketing - until now. America’s Trustocorp use polished visuals, belly laughs and a refreshing upbeat humanism to kick against the pricks. “There’s a lot of hilarious behaviour, of hypocrisy, in how we behave as a society right now and it’s healthy to make fun of it,” the collective says. Intervening on the street with their trademark double-take signage, on newsstands with fake celebrity magazines, or even in supermarkets with ersatz thought-provoking products Trustocorp have already made national TV news headlines in the USA and Europe. The collective’s gallery shows are equally ambitious and we’re ablaze to announce Trustocorp’s first ever solo show away from the USA at The Outsiders Newcastle gallery in October 2012.

Road to Nowhere is an introduction to Trustocorp featuring many of the astute apostates’ most admired outdoor pieces, at the populist price of only £125. It's available from 16:00 BST (that's 08:00 on the West Coast of the USA, 11:00 on the East Coast and 17:00 on continental Europe) Thursday 23rd August 2012.

Exclusive ** TrustoCorp bombs Hamtramck during the Detroit Beautification Project and locals do not like it

No comments:

The Inside the Rock Poster Street Team in the field risked crazy locals and threats of arrest to bring this story to you, enjoy. Rumors have been going around all week that TrustoCorp would make an appearance during the Detroit Beautification Project. With the worlds top graffiti artists in town how could they pass up a chance like this to interject their own message. Well this morning a new billboard by TrustoCorp was spotted and immediately the locals were not happy along with the owner of the billboard a local Dodge dealer.  My man in field took some pictures and video to bring the story to you under the threat of the dude in the white sweatshirt and his crazy bat wielding whatever she is. After the video camera was shut off the crazy dude started yelling all sorts of horrible names at the people just trying to take pictures and supposedly had his bat wielding wife call the police.

At first the people from the dealership tried peeling the sign down but stopped and left. My man went back to take more pictures to find the crazy dude (his job he says is to clean parking lots) already trying to buff the sign this afternoon. But he ran out of paint and stopped.

Videos of the attempted removal and the confrontation with crazy dude.

UPDATE 5-9-12
I had heard the sign was taken down and received this picture today from Michael Jackman at Metro Times confirming it. Yeah this sign looks a whole lot better. I guess that is the nature of street art, it only has a very short shelf life so you need to enjoy while you can. But I'm sure TrustoCorp will be back somewhere sometime.

TrustoCorp invades New York for a solo gallery show this Friday

No comments:

‘This month, guerrilla art group TrustoCorp brings their brand of humorous and cutting street art to Soho for their solo exhibition titled ‘Life Cycle’.

After a long summer of highly publicized, illegal street projects ranging from fake bus stop ads for ‘The Real Housewives of Baghdad’ to illegal billboards for ‘Drive Thru Lipo Suction’, the anonymous art collective brings their work in doors for a more in depth look at their perspective on the state of American culture. The exhibition examines the experience of growing up and dying American with four installations representing childhood, puberty, adulthood and death. With the American Life Cycle as a jump off point, TrustoCorp brandishes satire and criticism through a range of over 50 works including stained glass windows, giant board games, kiddie rides, fortune tellers and vintage arcade games.

While the work comments on the experience of growing up American, it also seeks to explore the life cycle of our nation as whole. In a time of economic disparity and record breaking wars, TrustoCorp subtly references the birth, rise and inevitable fall of the American Empire.

With larger than life art ranging from video to painting and kinetic, interactive sculpture, this is definitely TrustoCorp’s most ambitious project to date.

TrustoCorp formed 3 years ago, shortly after the 2008 Presidential election. Inspired and disgusted by the national political and cultural discourse, TrustoCorp gained notoriety by making political and satirical street signs which popped up in 13 cities around America. TrustoCorp quickly gained a large group of volunteers who actively install and spread TrustoCorp art throughout the country, making them more like ‘Fight Club’ than an art collective. Since then, TrustoCorp has graduated into other mediums including fake products that get ‘shop dropped’ illegally into stores, fake tabloid magazines and illegal billboards. These antics got them noticed by media quite quickly, resulting in Television features on ABC World News, BBC and FOX News.

I was talking to one of them this past weekend and got the low down on some of the work and it will be incredible. If you are anywhere near New York do not miss this show, you will be sorry you did.

The preview image above is called Botched Operation Spray Paint on Wood, Mixed Media & Electronics 33" x 75", yeah it's huge and it works. The game is fully functional - buzzing noise and working light bulb.

Scene on the Streets - TrustoCorp Stencil

No comments:

One again the ITRPF street team brings it to you first. Seems Detroit has been visited by another artist. This time its TrustoCorp. TrustoCorp is a New York based artist (or artists) dedicated to highlighting the hypocrisy and hilarity of human behavior through sarcasm and satire. TrustoCorp targets areas in the public domain typically reserved for messages of trust and authority and subverts them with messages of mayhem and absurdity hijacked from the visual style of our authorities. They recently hit New York with a bunch of "street signs", check out their website to see them they are brilliant.

This was found the other day. Its huge stencil almost 7 feet tall and looks badass. I'm sure there are more out there some where.
