Out With the Old Gallery Show at Library Street Collective Opening

Earlier this month Library Street Collective in Detroit hosted the opening of their biggest show to date, Out With The Old. Featuring over 55 pieces of original work from a long list of the today's top artists it was quite the show. Covering both floors of the gallery there was something for everyone. With many of the artists in attendance made the show that much better.

Reyes78 Mural for The Detroit Beautification Project

 Since the early 90s, Victor Reyes has been painting.  His work has been shown extensively in countries around the world, including the group show titled Letters First (2006) which traveled to Tokyo, Taipei, Korea, and Barcelona, Public Provocation (2008) at Carhartt Gallery, Weil am Rein, Germany, Will Rise group show (2010) as Yves Laroche Gallery, Montreal, Canada and Misspelled (2010), a solo show at Robert Berman E6 Gallery, San Francisco. Misspelled was culminated through an experiment in typography in which Reyes painted all 26 letters of the alphabet in the Mission and he published a 104-page book for the exhibition under the same name.

Similar to the piece he did in Long Beach last month he got it done in about 2 days. Only the solid black areas in the top right and bottom left were rolled on, all the rest was done with spray paint. An amazing piece that is about 60-70 feet long and 3-4 stories high

REYES - Empire print available now

From REYES:

This is the first Type Study print for me. It was printed by Breathing Door in San Francisco. The final piece is a construction of hand drawings from different setting done over a length of time, and Finished in AI. There are two colorways each the same price but of different quantities. The Prints Measure 14.3" x 22.3" The Black Print on White Watercolor paper is a run of 15. The Gold Print on Black Matte Paper is an Edition of 35, both series are Hand numbered and signed.
