Dmote Cosmodor Print Release

No comments:

1xRUN welcomes a new artist to their roster today with edition of Australian graffiti artist Dmote. His first print with them is titled Cosmodor.

"The piece was created in late 2012 and took me about three weeks to complete. It is a psychedelic exploration of my recent drawings, but the piece itself was specifically made for the print edition. The piece that the print is based on was originally painted with acrylic gouache on hot pressed heavyweight paper. The red and baby blue color palette represents one of my favorite graffiti color combo’s for painting simple straight letters." - Dmote

The print is a 18 x 24 Inches Hand-Embellished 4-Color Screen Print on 140lbs French Fine Art Paper with a signed and numbered edition of 40

On sale today at NOON EDT at 1xRUN.com

The Art of Dmote for The Detroit Beautification Project

No comments:

Hailing from Australia DMOTE (Shannon Peel) has a seriously diverse creative resume, none of which was particularly planned. He started writing graffiti in 1985 upon a move to Sydney but his affinity with the hip hop movement began years earlier. Living in the country and already heavily into b-boying he and his friends sought out all the material on this culture they could, watching movies and documentaries like Beat Street, Break Dance, Wild Style, and Style Wars. Like the rest of the world outside NYC, this was how he and his friends found out about the culture that was exploding within it.
