Artist statement:
"In an age of cell phone obsession and social media activism, there are few people out there in the world doing the real hard work, getting their hands dirty to make the world a better place. Tre' & Akira of PangeaSeed Foundation and its team are those people. I’ve witnessed great success in their direction on how to make art WORK for a cause. The funds generated from my prints in collaboration with PangeaSeed Foundation goes directly into action needed to fight for the health of our oceans and endangered marine life, such as sharks, threatened by human activity and destructive industries.

I hope this example of art & activism shines a light on their efforts and helps expose the global apathy towards the ginormous threats facing our global shark populations and ocean ecosystems today.

Tristan Eaton Super Bowl LIV Miami Art Print Release

No comments:

When two things you appreciate and enjoy come together unexpectedly it's simple incredible. To celebrate the 100 seasons of the National Football League (NFL), Goldman Global Arts (GGA) — the curators behind the renowned Wynwood Walls — and the NFL have collaborated to make an artistic statement at Super Bowl LIV across Miami. A curated group of artists including Tristan Eaton, Dasic Fernández, Joe Iurato, Kelsey Montague, and RISK will be showcasing their work through various platforms all highlighting different pieces of NFL100.

For the first time ever in the history of the Super Bowl and artist was tasked with creating the official event poster art work and that is Tristan Eaton. In the past the NFL used the marketing people to create the poster. But Tristan's work did not end there, his art is on the tickets and the program for the game.

Plus Tristan painted a huge Lombardi Trophy will be outside the stadium on game day.

Some words from Tristan on the project:
It’s been incredibly hard to keep this secret, but this is a huge honor for me both as a fan and as an artist. Those that know me know that my dad coached football and this was a major part of what brought my family together. Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events on the planet so it was indeed a very special challenge to design this piece, but I’m humbled and honored to be a part of NFL history. This is sooooooo coool!
This fine art print is made in partnership with Goldman Global Arts and the NFL and is based on Tristan Eaton’s official artwork on the Super Bowl game day ticket and program. Each print is $250, 18” x 24” in size, signed, numbered and features a custom silver embossed stamp.

This will be a timed 48 hour release starting Saturday, Feb 1st at 3pm EST EXCLUSIVELY at www.tristaneaton.com Sale ends Monday, February, 3rd at 3pm EST!

Tristan Eaton And PangeaSeed Foundation Print Release

No comments:

PangeaSeed Foundation is pleased to announce a very special timed release print edition, Moriría Por Ti, in collaboration with supporting artist Tristan Eaton.

"Moriría Por Ti" is a call to action. With upwards of 100 million sharks killed annually for the global trade in shark fin, we must act now if we wish to save these incredibly important species from extinction. The oceans are the lungs of the planet and for over 400 million years sharks have balanced the delicate ocean ecosystem that all life on Earth depends on for survival.

However, in the past 50 years, humans have wiped out over 90% of the oceans big fish, including sharks, due to destructive fishing and consumption practices. Vote with you dollar and do not support the trade in endangered wildlife. Together, via art and activism, we can help save our seas.

Proceeds from this print release benefit PangeaSeed Foundation's efforts to harness the power of art, science and creativity to generate awareness, stimulate dialogue, change perception, and inspire positive change around pressing ocean environmental issues.

For more information on how you can help save sharks and oceans, visit PangeaSeed.org today!

Artist Statement:

"PangeaSeed Foundation works for a beautiful cause: '…to harness the power art, science, and creativity to generate awareness and inspire positive change around pressing ocean environmental issues'. As an artist, I feel honored to have my work contribute to this cause and help PangeaSeed Foundation further their goals.

Back in 2014, I painted a mural on Isla Mujeres, Mexico for PangeaSeed's Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans project that inspired this print. I chose to paint a majestic, 100ft+ shark with the text: ‘Moriria Por Ti’ which translates to ‘I Would Die For You’. I hoped to make a statement about how much marine life such as Whale Sharks are effected and threatened by human life, human greed and industrial activity. They are literally dying for us.

PangeaSeed Foundation needs our help to raise awareness and support of this worthy cause. 100% of the profits from this print will go to PangeaSeed so they can continue advocating for marine life in danger across the globe via art and activism. Please join me in raising awareness for our oceans."

Tristan Eaton Painted Oceans Red Sands Sea Forts Project

No comments:

If you have ever been around or seen Tristan Eaton work you know he loves a challenge and can't sit still very long. Tristan has been working on this Painted Oceans project for 5 years and now he is poised to once again push the boundaries of art and make history.

In the summer of 2016 an adventurous crew of artists and filmmakers will head out into the middle of the ocean off the East Coast of England to pull off the most ambitious, dangerous and exciting mural project in history: PAINTED OCEANS.

Artist Tristan Eaton has assembled a team of world-renowned Graffiti and Street Artists to join him: Shepard Fairey, Futura 2000, How & Nosm, and The London Police, to paint murals on the historic Red Sand Sea Forts off the east coast of England. The new documentary feature, PAINTED OCEANS will be directed by Pascal Franchot and will capture the entire process as the artists live at sea for one month, battling weather and danger on all fronts while striving for their place in Art History. All of this is happening with the blessings of the local governments and England.

The history behind the PAINTED OCEANS project goes back 74 years, but the execution will be completely modern. PAINTED OCEANS will be creating a robust digital campaign including: re-launching the Pirate Radio as a curated live stream, creating satellite mapping of the forts in high definition, interacting with the world in real time via live video and social media as well as a high-profile KICKSTARTER campaign. There are many cool rewards in the Kickstarter project be sure to check them out.

Embracing the already legendary status of the Red Sands Sea Forts and the enormous audience for global street art, the PAINTED OCEANS project strives to be at the intersection of art, film and technology while breaking new ground in the realm of Public Art and Art History. They face danger and risk it all to transform these iconic instruments of war into beautiful murals at sea!

With help from Converse, Montana Cans, Library Street Collective, PangeaSeed and others they are going to create something like no one has seen before.

Head over to http://paintedoceansmovie.com to learn more, it really is an incredible project.

The subject of this new body of work is dedicated to the precious yet fading memories associated with human connections. Human behavior, mistakes, glory and failure are all as inspiring to him as the human figure itself. In painting his subjects, Eaton sets out to portray them not literally, but to conjure all the ephemera and visual noise that’s associated with them in memory. Very often when you think of an old friend or a new love, you don’t only see their face, you see a channel surfing montage of everything associated with them. This mental collage of emotions, memories and images is what he stitches together in his portraits.

All works are a mixed media on cradled wood panels. Each painting features hand painted figurative elements, with additional details executed with spray paint and stencil, silk-screen, collage, pencil and brush work. Every color is sprayed one at a time – a very intensive process – then hand drawn and painted, silk-screened and collaged.
