The hot duo known as
Icy and Sot make their debut with
1xRUN today with their Tree print.
ICY (born 1985) and SOT (born 1991) are stencils artists originally from Tabriz, Iran. They continue on their creative crusade to dismantle preconceived perceptions of a fleeting Iranian tradition through their striking stencil artwork. Since 2006, they have made paramount accomplishments in Iranian urban art culture as both skaters and artists, creating an international buzz with their works about peace, war, society issues and human rights.
"This piece is from the new series that we have been working on for a solo show in New York this upcoming summer. It originally began as a multilayer stencil from pieces we have done in the streets. The piece itself was done in August of 2013 and only took about a week to cut and paint, but there was a pre-process where we painted it on a wall first. At the time we were living in the neighborhood surrounded with warehouses and industrial factories. We were missing trees, as they are hard to find in New York, so we came up with that idea." - Icy & Sot
Tree is a 24 x 18 Inches Screen Print on 130lbs Mohawk Fine Art Paper there will also be an edition of 15 that will be hand embellished.
