Never one to shy away from politics, Castillo’s latest releases focus very literally on the wolf in sheep’s clothing that most politicians are. "A Lot of Fun is of a wolf dressing like a sheep. For me, that’s a metaphor about politicians.

Victor Castillo No More Fantasies Print On Sale Today

Victor Castillo is back at 1xRUN today with his latest print No More Fantasies.

"This painting was created towards the end of 2012 in my studio in Los Angeles. It was created using acrylic on canvas. Sometimes the ideas come in like a flash, but at the same time I have a collection of images and different concepts that I'm always mixing to create new ideas. In this case, it was in a flash.

This painting is a little rebel story about facing the fantasies that make us blind face to reality. It was part of my February 2012 solo show in Los Angeles at Merry Karnowsky Gallery. Now, it will be a part of a group show this November at Jörg Heitsch Galerie in Munich, Germany." - Victor Castillo

Victor Castillo Modern Love Print On Sale Today

Joining 1xRUN for his debut RUN, 1xRUN are excited to welcome Victor Castillo with his painting Modern Love. The painting was shown at Victor Castillo's solo exhibition titled "The Jungle" at Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York last February.

"This is one of the few paintings that came to my mind in a dream, like a flash. Those days I was thinking a lot about conspiracy. This piece is about greed—it is everywhere, and it looks like there is a global conspiracy now. The piece is about how the insane obsession for money has created these lobbyists and groups of people who are conspiring to get more money and even more reach just to make the world a worse place. That is the feeling that I tried to create with this piece; that is the reason I have these two characters in the painting with these arms that are long and confusing, because you never know who the guy behind them is. You know? Who are the guys behind these hands taking the money?” —Victor Castillo
