Logan Hicks Saved Print

No comments:

Logan Hicks has a great new release with 1xRUN that comes as a regular print or you can choose a hand painted multiple that is 24 x 18 Inches 10-Layer Stencil On Fine Art Paper.

"This painting was produced using a total of 12 layers of stencils. The original size was approximately 6ft by 4ft. With my paintings, I separate out the details into separate layers. Each layer has progressively less and less detail.

The painting doesn’t have a specific narrative. It was meant more to evoke a feeling than to tell a story. " - Logan Hicks

Logan Hicks Siren Of The Sea Print Release

Reference shots

1xRUN have another new artist release today and that artist is Logan Hicks. His print is titled Siren of the Sea.

"This painting was part of my recent exhibition "Love Never Saved" this past March of 2014 in New York. The whole show revolved around water as a theme, so it has nautical superstitions and sailor traditions in it. This piece in particular was about the sirens of the sea who would lure sailors to their death with their beautiful voices.

In many ways the piece is a collaborative piece. The dress worn was created by Julius LaCour, the model was provided by Trump Agency, the make up was done by my friend Keri Blair, and the male model is none other than Beau Stanton, who has done prints with 1xRUN before! All my work is created with stencils and aerosol. I took the photo and worked from that, but the final result was created with 12 layers of stencil and aerosol on canvas." - Logan Hicks

And that folks is what's known as using a reference for art work. Grabbing an image of someone else's work off Google and manipulating it is not using a "reference" it's lazy.

Logan Hicks is known around the world as one of the hardest working artists alive, Logan is among the most talented contemporary artists today. His vision is exacting, and his standards are extremely high. After months of discussions, we decided to use a special Liquid Graphite Pigment with Silver Flake to provide the solid slate-like feel that Logan wanted in this print while maintaining a sense of depth and variation that is so important to his artwork. The results are striking. As a special variation for the collectors, we also printed 15 with Gold Metallic inks.

The edition was created at Modern Multiples Studio in Los Angeles under the supervision of Master Printer, Richard Duardo. Video Edited by Kevin Chapados, Directed by Chunwoo Kae, Produced by Daniel Lahoda for JetSet Graffiti Productions in Brooklyn, New York.
