Dave Hunter collaborated with Zack Darling on this poster for his Mystic Beat Lounge, the late night portion of the Harmony Festival. Zack and Dave got togerther about a year ago to discuss the possibility of Dave designing and screen printing, or perhaps collaborating on a poster for the 2011 Harmony Festival. They agreed to produce a silk screen poster for the Mystic Beat Lounge’s Techno Tribal Show – which Zack has produced for many years now. A few weeks ago Zack sent Dave his design and asked him to take his liberties with it into the Gamma Quadrant – which Dave then morphed into a total remix of his original promotional poster design. Fully utilizing the Gammachrome™ technologies, Dave redesigned and opened up the central mandala portion of Zacks design and re-designed the borderwork.
They ended up with a 6 color silk screen design, including metallic silver-under and gold-over printed inks with a highly textured black background filled with sacred geometry and radiating eye candy. Dave also printed a few variants on lapis and bronze papers, and then a few on sparkle foil and iridescent gold papers, switching the black ink with a blue > purple split fountain blend.
