Gabriel Picolo Melt My Heart Print Release By FAMP Art

No comments:

Last year, FAMP Art were excited to announce their exclusive partnership with artist Gabriel Picolo through the release of his officially licensed Trollhunter print. Since then, Gabriel has gone on to create a stunning set of work that has garnered a lot of praise among his fans. To this date, he has yet to make his personal art available to the public but, this year, all that will change.

As a thank you for all the support, FAMP Art have decided to release an open edition of his first piece in the Icarus and the Sun series, Melt My Heart. It’s one of FAMP's personal favorites and one of the most requested pieces Gabriel has made to date.

Melt My Heart will be a 10”x10” archival giclee print on Somerset Velvet fine art paper and will cost $25.

The print will go on sale April 7th at 12pm EDT at FampArt.com

Gabriel Picolo Trollhunter Poster From FAMP Art

No comments:

Over the remainder of the year, Famp Art will be introducing three artists that will be joining their roster, but it’s about that time they introduced the first one: Gabriel Picolo, FAMP Art’s first resident artist.

Details from FAMP:
Gabriel is a young illustrator from Brazil who we came across last summer when he was working on an amazing 365 Days of Doodles project. When you see those doodles your jaw is going to drop the same way ours did (check out his Instagram). We knew right then and there that we had to find a way to work with him, so we gave him a test: We asked him to design a poster for André Øvredal’s Norwegian mockumentary, Trollhunter (aka Trolljegeren), because of his ability to create rich and fun visuals with creatures. He submitted an idea and we loved it. After a few weeks, he came back to us with the final product and it was a nifty, simple and elegant take on the film. This is the largest canvas he has worked on thus far and was his first real test using color. It’s also the first movie poster he’s ever made and will be the first piece of art that he sells as a limited edition print. We were going to wait until October to release the piece, but people from all over the world have been begging him to publicly sell his art and so we thought, why wait, let’s kick-off his collectible print debut with a licensed poster.
Here’s what Gabriel had to say about the project: “Working on the Trollhunter poster project was a unique experience for me. That’s because, until now, it was the first time I watched a movie thinking about the illustration I’d draw afterwards. It changes how you see the whole thing. As I watched the movie I was seeking for interesting visual features that could help me to create the poster. I would like to thank Alex and FAMP Art for inviting me to join this project!”

To commemorate his first screen print release and to welcome him into the FAMP Art family, they’ll be making his Trollhunter print available as a timed edition. The art is an 18”x24” screen print that will cost $39. It will go on sale Thursday, May 14th at 12pm EST and will end on May 24th at 6pm EDT at http://famp-art.com/
