The Andy Warhol Family Film- Uncle Andy Kickstarter Project

“Uncle Andy” is a documentary film about the iconic artist Andy Warhol that is unlike anything that has ever been seen before. Filmmakers, Abby Warhola (Andy’s great niece) and Jesse Best capture a rare portrait of Warhol by members of his very modest family - the Warholas. It is sure to rock the art world with an intimate side of Warhol, far removed from the counter culture scene of the infamous ‘Silver Factory.‘ The late Paul Warhola, Andy’s eccentric oldest brother, a chicken farmer turned artist is the highlight of this film project along with his many nephews and nieces. Their personal stories of Andy will surprise many who thought they may have already known Warhol. With a family like this it is no wonder that Warhol became the most influential artist of modern time. A one of a kind documentary about world famous pop artist Andy Warhol, told by his immediate family, the Warholas.

Andy Warhol x Dom Perignon Bottles coming soon

Dom Perignon, which was known as Andy Warhol’s drink of choice while he partied at Studio 54, has commissioned bottles with Warhol-inspired designs. For those who can’t wait for the 2002 vintage champagne to be available October 15 at wine retailers, here is some video footage for your consumption.

Once again Maharishi gets together with the Andy Warhol Foundation as part of their Spring 2009 Collection. This time they chose a dollar graphic, filled with an Andy Warhol camouflage. They present a t-shirt and hoodie with the graphic, and both are available now at End.

BMW Art Cars & LACMA Roundup

Stopped by the LACMA for a pleasant surprise to see some old-school custom car collaborations between BMW and some familiar names. What’s that saying… “so old, it’s new?” The Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella, and Andy Warhol painted BMW Art Cars, a series starting in the 70’s, will be on display in the BP Grand Entrance and can be seen free of admission. A little late notice on our part though, as today is the final day of the exhibition. If you do happen make it out there, also check out the collection of Koons they have on display that look similar to the set that was part of the controversial Versailles exhibition that ended recently.
