35 comments:

Football is drawing to a close with Super Bowl fast approaching. The teams I wanted to see do something are out. Hope your teams are still in it.

Today's posters come from Parry Doogan. He was kind enough to provide two of his posters for the giveaway. The first one is Song and Dance Man - screen printed edition of 40 created for a group exhibition at Purdue Univeristy (Fall 2010) pertaining to the theme of celebrity. You can't go wrong with Christopher Walken.

The Second One is The Hand From Above - 5 color screen printed edition of 34 created for the Toys in the Attic charity art show at Gallery 122 in Minneapolis, MN (December 2010).

One person will win both posters

Drop a comment and I will use the random number generator to pick a winner. Entries are limited to ONE PER PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD. Please leave your name with the comment, comments without names will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted until midnight Saturday January 22, with the winner announced on Sunday.

Parry has been working on a bunch of prints for various galleries and artist exchanges lately and just released 2 of these for sale. "Damn you Digital" is a print from a gallery showing at Leia Bell's Signed and Numbered Gallery in Salt Lake City. The second print is his take on Christopher Walken and will be shown at a celebrity themed show taking place in the fall at Purdue University.

Both are screen printed and he only has 15 of Song and Dance Man for sale

Hey Rita Art Print by Parry Doogan

No comments:

Another very nice art print by Parry Doogan. The woman in the print is Rita Hayworth, Parry chose her primarily because she's beautiful, but also her story of being asked by Hollywood to hide her Mexican heritage and "whiten" up her look has some social historical interest and significance.

Hand printed on French Spekletone cover stock. 7 screens used with process inks and overprinting to get a bunch of different colors.

19"x12.5"

Edition of 40 signed and numbered

$25 including shipping !!!!!
