Copyright Forever, For Ever Prints

No comments:

Copyright has been daubing the streets of the UK with his trademark pink roses for years. Fusing street art, graffiti and more traditional styles, he uses a mixture of classic painting techniques and spray can art. He creates print styles with stencils, depth with spray paint, and texture with a paintbrush.

He has released two new prints with 1xRUN titled Forever, For Ever in your choice of blue or mauve. They are 13.75 x 19.75 Inches. Mixed Media Screen Print on 300gsm Fabriano Watercolour Paper and both colors have an edition of 13.
"I originally drew her in 2014 for a canvas, I sometimes like to revisit my girls into new formats. The tattoo on her arm wasn't on the original, but references a sailor Jerry tattoo and the name of a solo show I had in London in 2014, 'One Red Rose Forever'." - Copyright

Copyright One Rose Print Release Details

No comments:

English artist Copyright has a new print being released by 1xRUN on Wednesday and you will have you choice of 3 different colors for One Rose. The print is 14 x 19.75 Inches (35cm x 50cm) Mixed Media Screen Prints on 300gsm Fabriano Watercolour Paper. Each color will also have an edition of only 13.

"I did an exhibition last year that opened on Valentines Day which was called ‘One Red Rose Forever’. It’s an old Sailor Jerry tattoo phrase.

I always like to revisit and re-imagine my own personal archive of imagery in new ways. This image is a reworking of a much larger piece I painted a couple of years back.

I'm always thinking, if my paintings were songs what would they sound like? Often I'll be listening to a song and it'll give me an idea for a painting. All it takes is a phrase, or sometimes I'll come up with a particular profound emotion and try to depict it as an image in the same way a musician would in a song." - Copyright

Copyright Fallen Angel Print Release Details

No comments:

On Thursday 1xRUN will introduce you to the work of another new artist, Copyright. Hailing from Great Britain, early in his career Copyright decided to study photography and video production at his local college. It was here he discovered a seemingly limitless supply of art materials he could ‘borrow’ to create his own paintings. His highly stylized work and unique style has proven popular with both national and international collectors including a number of celebrities and Premier League footballers.

Fallen Angel print will come in 3 colorways and each one is 14 x 19.75 Inches (35cm x 50cm) Mixed Media Screen Prints on 300gsm Fabriano Watercolour Paper with a signed & numbered edition of 13. Purchase of all three prints will be shipped with matching numbers.

"This image I first made in 2011, I released 2 colour ways of it at the time that sold out. In 2013 I had my 10 year anniversary show where I was able to be nostalgic about my own work, after which I started to reprise old favorites in new ways. I made these and kept them back until the time was right. As my first print release in the USA and as an introduction to my work, it seamed like the perfect time to put them out.

Angels are a reoccurring motif for me and most of my pictures draw from a bitter sweet theme. So the image of a fallen angel is a powerful symbolic way to portray this. I use symbols and iconography within my paintings to help build a story/narrative, usually small icons or tattoos." - Copyright

About CopyRight
Copyright grew up on the mean streets of Bristol foraging for Panda Pop, Fizz Bombs and Cola Cubes and as a result spent many sugar fuelled nights scribbling on walls with the finest quality crayons. A natural talent for art soon developed and he gained fans quickly, his dad still has a fabulous collection of early works that would rival Saatchi and he was soon short listed for the well prestigious Tony Hart ‘Gallery’ and Blue Peter's 'Wall of Fame'.

After watching the bigger kids he soon dropped the crayons and picked up the spray can and the future as they say is history. Roses and Ladies started to spring up along the South Coast and as his work evolved it transferred from the streets to the galley and from walls to canvas.

Soon the magazines came knocking at his door but he stood firm he wouldn’t go topless no matter how much they offered. The remaining years have been filled with a move from East London back to his home city of Bristol, shows, prints and magazine features which don’t need to sit on the top shelf.
