Featuring original artwork by supporting ARTivist Jessica Hess (USA), this limited art print edition highlights the conservation of vulnerable marine species and the importance of marine biodiversity.

"I’m very happy to be working with PangeaSeed Foundation this year and raising awareness and funds for our oceans. I grew up in a beach town in North Carolina and the ocean is a huge part of my life. I am endlessly intrigued by the new and strange creatures humans are discovering as our technology improves and we are able to explore deeper and deeper to unlock the mysteries of our planet.

In an alternate dimension, I studied marine sciences instead of going to art school. But here and now I am pleased to create art that celebrates marine diversity. I present a hopeful image of what a healthy ocean looks like while reminding people of a need to preserve and protect it." - Jessica Hess

Jessica Hess Providence Playground Print Release

1xRUN are excited to welcome back artist Jessica Hess for her second RUN! This time around, along with Spoke Art they are excited to present Providence Playground !

"This piece came to be after visiting a friend in Providence after we were exploring the city on our bikes, looking for murals and graffiti. We stumbled across a large abandoned teal-painted building. We hopped the fence and found a way inside. My jaw dropped. It was nothing short of a palace to me. Before the building's street art “makeover” it had been a nightclub. A nightclub painted in teal and purple...no wonder they went under. Now in its derelict state there were spray-soaked bars, painted stairwells, murals on the dancefloors, a tagged up dock outside extending out over the water, smashed windows, and empty spray cans as far as the eye could see. It was perfect. I was especially excited to be able to photograph and subsequently make paintings of this awesome. So after shooting about 500+ photos, the sun setting, and my friends repeated requests to “wrap it up” on account of his hungry stomach and shivering, we left. This painting and subsequent print is the result of that wonderful adventure." - Jessica Hess

Jessica Hess Davis Street I print Release Details

Out of respect to the wishes of Spoke Art I was asked to delay posting of this news until now.

Spoke Art has just released a new fine art giclee print by artist Jessica Hess, "Davis Street I". Derived from the original oil on canvas painting of the same name, this particular piece was painted by Jessica recently and was inspired by a trip to New York she took. The location shown is across the street from the iconic 5 Pointz building in Long Island City, one of New York's most revered Meccas for graffiti and street art.

Jessica Hess Bayview II Series Prints from 1xRun

Spoke Art and 1xRUN have teamed up for this very special release of Jessica Hess' "Bayview II"

"My roommate spotted the graffiti from Caltrain on his morning commute to work. He thought it would provide some good subject matter for me and brought me out to the the spot he saw from the train, in Bayview. It's pretty gross under the tracks there and it is a sketchy part of town so I am glad he tagged along. I always remove trash and cars from my paintings. There were a lot of homeless camps around there. Luckily we didn't get chased by crackheads this time. Ha. I took a hundred or so photos then we went to eat BBQ. Two months later I had this lovely painting. That's the story." - Jessica Hess

There is a run of 35 prints measuring 18 x 24 Giclée on 300 gsm Italian Cold Press Water Color Paper. 1xRun are also releasing a special edition of 10 hand embellished prints also.

San Francisco-based painter Jessica Hess is a photorealistic landscape painter. Her depictions of the urban environment both celebrate and validate the art of graffiti through a fine art lens of oil paintings on canvas and gauche on paper. A graduate of RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), Hess is a recipient of the Trent Burleson Painting Prize, the Faber Birren National Color Award and the Stamford Art Association Award for Excellence.
