New Malleus Melvins poster and tour schedule

No comments:

Malleus just finished printing another killer poster and this one is for the Melvins. They used a very cool raw grey paper and they printed 5 colors on it, a series of silver colors. They used a transparent translucent ink for the skin, so that paper is visible on the background. Then there’s a copper shading from up to down and from light to dark. On it a light silver.

Malleus will also be on the road.

Are You ready to come and say Hi in the next days?

Chuck Sperry at Faya Gallery • New York City • Wednesday, September 8, 2010

No comments:

Faya Gallery, 211 Elizabeth Street, New York City, has invited Chris Shaw, Chuck Sperry and Peter LeCompte to exhibit their newest work through the month of September. The opening is on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 6pm to 9pm. Sperry will be showing his newest poster work, Chris Shaw will be showing his newest paintings, and Peter LeCompte will show his newest hand-painted silkscreen pieces.

This exhibition is a fusion of the rock poster aesthetic and fine art.

In Chris Shaw’s work the rock poster aesthetic informs the painting medium; there is a mash-up of bold psychedelic poster stylings with very painterly techniques informed by Renaissance styles of picture-making and subject matter.

Peter LeCompte is like a DJ who orchestrates pre-arranged musical samples into a continuous mix while also highlighting their obscure connotations. Le Compte juggles memory and color into what appear to be the solidified icons of a recovered happiness – they hark back to the more anxiety-free days of our collective pre-Vietnam war childhood.

Chuck Sperry brings his masterfully created silkscreened rock posters, resonating with the styles drawn from the poster art form’s long tradition – ranging from the roots of the poster tradition in Art Nouveau and Vienna Secession style to Psychedelic, Rock, Punk, Post-Punk, Grunge, Stoner and Pop. In Sperry’s work you can trace the history of the poster medium from the end of the 19th Century to the beginning of the 21st.

First Contact The Borg Queen Star Trek Poster by Ken Taylor on sale details

1 comment:

Alice Krige's Borg Queen oozes sensuality and creepiness in this new poster from Mondo, the Alamo Drafthouse's collectible art boutique. We're bringing you an exclusive first look at the Star Trek: First Contact poster before it goes on sale Thursday.

This First Contact poster is the work of artist Ken Taylor, and it's the first Mondo Star Trek poster to focus on one of the movies instead of an original series episode. Says Mondo creative director Justin Ishmael:

The first two releases in our STAR TREK series focused on episodes from the original series. SPACE SEED and THE TROUBLE WITH TRIBBLES both featured iconic characters and creatures, so we decided to focus on one of the most recognized and loved of all STAR TREK characters...the Borg. Not only are the Borg incredibly interesting and visually stunning, but they function as a cohesive unit with the queen as their leader.

The Regular version is 24 x 36 inches with an edition of 210 the Glow in the dark variant will be an edition of 80. On sale Thursdays September 2 at a random time at MondoTees.com

Tyler Stout Let The Right One In poster sale

No comments:

From Tyler:

so, on this let the right one in poster, i have 3 different versions.

this was designed for a uk poster show, and their standard film poster size is 30x40" quad poster. so this poster was originally designed 30x40". i have a few of those sizes.

but i figured the main version i'd make available would be my standard 24x36 poster size. its the regular same size as all my movie posters. there is also a 24x36 variant, which doesn't have the red blood color but instead has a layer of glow in the dark ink. its a little yellow, and yellow + snow is not exactly a perfect match...but it is what it is. so i'll have those 3 versions. though mostly i'll have the regular size.

edition wise, i believe its about 300 regular edition / 100 variant edition / EDIT: 70 quad sized edition. though i don't have that many to sell, that's just the edition size.

Lottery winners will be picked today, Wednesday, September 1st, at 12PM PST, winners will be notified with payment instructions.
